Please don’t make me watch the awfully animated and seemingly very boring What If to need to know something to see this movie… I couldn’t make it ten minutes and really don’t wanna.

 

Spider Supreme is from the Marvel Zombies episode, not the Dark Strange one. He was called "Zombie Hunter Spidey" or something along those lines on the toy lineup. If anything from What If crosses over into the movies, it'd be Captain Carter in Doctor Strange 2 or something like that

 

I think people are reading way too much into Strange just being a dick.

 

Still trying to figure out what about Homecoming makes it not the kind of “street level” story people say they want. Is it because he goes up in a plane in one part and on a boat in another? I guess then yeah he’s not on the street level the entire film, sure.

 

I’m so thankful my comic reading for over half my life consisted of random comics here & there without context.

Really prepared me for this current era of Marvel Studios, where there’s more content™ than ever, and I care about less of it than ever. Feels nice knowing I can just dip into whatever appeals to me and just… chill. Instead of (especially in my dang 30s) treating this superhero shit as homework, lol.

Haha. Yeah my completist brain fights with my “ugh why am I doing this” with some of these things. Especially if I feel like there’s “story” (as meh as it can sometimes be) that I am missing. Wanda and Loki were worth watching at least imo. I enjoyed those. But I have never liked cell shading like that … at all. So the animation was gonna bug me from the start.

 

What happened, did I just trip a death flag?

 

Yeah, that animation style didn’t appeal to me, at all. Really wish their approach to “What If?” involved bringing in different teams with different styles for each episode. Isn’t Star Wars doing something like that? Probably gonna watch the second episode eventually ‘cause it’s a spin on my favorite Marvel Studios series (Guardians) starring Chadwick Boseman, whose death still bums me out hard.

I think Eternals is gonna be the first new Marvel thing I watch since WandaVision (which was 70% great; just wish it ended better).

I wanted Marvel to do Shang-Chi for years, so I’m glad it finally happened. And, the character of Sylvie appeals to me a ton. But, I’m very burnt out on Marvel Studios output that’s “fine,” especially with how much of it there is, and neither thing has pushed me over the edge yet to finally watch.
