  1. I’m just mad about Spider Siri.

Totally fair to agree to disagree! I do agree that an *entire* film of him busting up bank robbers would get stale after a bit, but I'd like it sprinkled in between conflict with a classic Spidey villain. I just want it to be more of an independent story. I'd even be down for a team-up with other street level heroes like Daredevil. I just need a break from the Avengers lol.

But yeah, like you said already, I can definitely understand where you're coming from and it's just a matter of preference.

I hear ya. That's another unfortunate problem is that in exchange for even being able to use Spider-Man, someone from the MCU had to be teamed with him, and the MCU has no street level heroes. That's in the process of changing though.

Yeah I think the only part of actually get hung up on is they’ve kinda neutered how smart Peter is supposed to be by having 90% or what he does be an iron man invention. They kinda brought it back a little bit in homecoming with the whole Happy seeing Tony in him on the plane thing but that’s a criticism I have nonetheless

Wait is that really part of the deal?

I'm like 99.9% certain it was. I thought the arrangement was that Spider-Man gets to team up with the Avengers in their films, and in return Sony gets to use one MCU character in the solo movies.

More than this still not being a more grounded story, I'm more upset with MCU Peter's first encounters with his most iconic villains being with alternate universe versions of them

I don't know I just think it's super cool we're even getting those villains let alone the originals. A lot of these things seem like super small gripes and I don't understand most of them.

I’m happy with MCU Peter meeting multiverse variants of villains. It’s like a celebration of everything that came before.

They are just upholding a long standing tradition of bitching about spidey movies on here.

Haha for the record, I may have my nitpicks, but I am still entertained by every movie. Including some moments in Spider-Man 3.

I should really rewatch the Tobey movies. Especially 3. I don’t remember anything outside of the dance scene at this point

  14. People that love Spider-Man more than just about anything and that have been discussing it together for literally years and thousands of very in-depth posts in many, many threads now … having it called “bitching” bugs me a little.

Like @Tim and I have been talking about these things and characters for half my life now :crylaugh: :spiderman3:

Just think. In an alternate universe somewhere, this site could have started as AbsoluteSpider.

  19. Are we sure that’s the real doctor strange in the trailer? Why would he just carelessly fuck with the timeline?

I’m not a fan of the word tbh, so it always rubs me a tad wrong anyway.

    I think I'm gonna rent SM2 and ASM2 over the weekend - my two favorite Spider-Man movies:spidey4:

Is he fucking with the timeline though? I thought the idea was just to erase the information from people's heads.

To be fair, the Russo brothers made Strange feel a lot more responsible to me than in his solo film. If you ignore Infinity War, I don't think it's that farfetched for him to do it

I heard a theory that at least the train Dr. Strange fighting Spidey may be the one from an upcoming What If? where he works for Dormammu which could make sense as a universe they travel to as I believe Spidey will also be in that episode as the Sorcerer Supreme.
