  1. Just reading about OMD makes me mad again. :crylaugh:

At least we have Into the Spider-Verse. :miles:

either way, as much as I dislike the two MCU Spidey movies they would have to have a monumental stinker on their hands to make it as bad as OMD so that's something I guess.

I swear to God, this better not end with Peter stuck in another universe, him forgetting about the MCU and vice versa, and all of his supporting cast dead. And then Mephisto shows up and razzes the audience.

Yeah, I think the fact that MJ and Peter barely have a relationship in the films makes it a less bitter pill for people. Its not like the stakes are what they were in the comics.

This looks chaotic and fun. I’m glad to see daddy Dafoe will be returning.

I’m going to put money on the film ending with Peter and Strange somehow correcting the spell, which returns all the villains to their world and everyone (including MJ and Ned) forgetting about Spider-Man.

Yeah, this. Comparing this to One More Day is, like, based purely on the most surface-level, superficial reading of the two situations.

That Spider-Man, world famous for his seriousness.

  17. the other thing about OMD, if i'm remembering right from the one summer i read a bunch of comic books as an adult, is the guy who wrote it was just bitter about his own real life divorce and it came out a lot in his writing of spiderman leading up to OMD and then OMD was just this big stupid culmination of all that guy's insecurities

Well, actually, OMD wasn't just down to a writer. It was an editorial mandate. More than one person was responsible, but Joe Quesada was technically more responsible than the others.

  19. that makes it unbelievably stupider honestly

    I finally watched the trailer.

Didn’t really do much to get me excited for the movie.

But I’ve enjoyed this reminiscing about OMD. It got me thinking about BND, which I did remember enjoying.

I recall a story with Wolverine in a blizzard that was fun.

So basically what y’all are all saying is Mephisto confirmed?

    Assume It's A Bit

People are already unironically saying that on Twitter and Reddit. "There was a sign saying "devil in disguise" and Strange is acting weird so he must be Mephisto in disguise!!" like they didn't learn a single thing from Wandavision

  24. Just wait for the next movie ... Alfred Molina playing Spidey in Spider-Man: Nursing Home

Yeah it’s almost definitely him, which actually lines right up with the supposed plot leaks a while back: Peter apparently discovers a prison where Strange is keeping the villains from these other universes locked away. You can see the Lizard here try to attack Peter and, as you said, hit Strange’s force field wall instead.
