Homecoming is killing China, the ww total is now 823 million, it legit could become the biggest Spider-Man movie. WOOH
It's pretty much a given it will be the biggest Spider-Man movie. The only question is if it will be able to reach $1 billion once it's done in China.
There were a few people after the drop the movie had after its first weekend. It was never going to be a flop, people just expected the movie to hit a billion within two weeks I guess?
I find that aside from this thread I completely forgot about this movie. Idk why the Spider-Man movies never stick with me.
I don't think it will. It's a long shot it passes SM3. It has a slight chance but I would be surprised if it did.
Interesting to see the split of America/World for the movie. 61.7% of the money for SM:HC was made overseas. Whereas there's a more even split with others. (And adjusting for inflation, it's not close to SM3.)
Yeup. Adjusted for inflation, Spider-Man made $617.7 domestically with the dollar's current value. Worldwide, it was a little over $1 billion. Ironically, none of the other films have been as successful though. The domestic vs. international is interesting for this film, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was thanks to Iron Man. haha
Homecoming currently has $861 million, SM3 made $890. That's only a $29 million difference. The only way I see it not surpassing SM3 is if it suddenly stops all showings in China.
This sentence typed up in my head immediately upon seeing the cover, and then I scrolled down and thought I was making myself see this sentence on my phone.
But it just has an insane drop in China. It's not impossible to pass it but it's definitely not a lock. We'll see in the next couple weeks and yeah obviously if inflation was factored in this SM:H wouldn't come close
This is still my favorite SM movie out of all of them, but I really just don't find any of them memorable or as fun as other super-hero movies. I also really loved the animated series so it's hard for me to not see those characters when I watch these movies.
