It's pretty much a given it will be the biggest Spider-Man movie. The only question is if it will be able to reach $1 billion once it's done in China.

Hopefully! Plus it's the final nail in the coffin for those "it's a flop" jags. WOOH

There were a few people after the drop the movie had after its first weekend. It was never going to be a flop, people just expected the movie to hit a billion within two weeks I guess?

Varying reports of 861-864 million range, higher would put it past GOTG2. Wooh

I find that aside from this thread I completely forgot about this movie. Idk why the Spider-Man movies never stick with me.

This is definitely going to end up being the highest grossing Spider-Man film worldwide.

I don't think it will. It's a long shot it passes SM3. It has a slight chance but I would be surprised if it did.

Raimi's SM3 sold that well? Wow. Just wow.

  11. Interesting to see the split of America/World for the movie.

61.7% of the money for SM:HC was made overseas. Whereas there's a more even split with others.

(And adjusting for inflation, it's not close to SM3.)

Yeup. Adjusted for inflation, Spider-Man made $617.7 domestically with the dollar's current value. Worldwide, it was a little over $1 billion. Ironically, none of the other films have been as successful though.

The domestic vs. international is interesting for this film, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was thanks to Iron Man. haha

Homecoming currently has $861 million, SM3 made $890. That's only a $29 million difference. The only way I see it not surpassing SM3 is if it suddenly stops all showings in China.

It's because of the lack of screen time for Dafoe in the sequels, obviously.

The marketing team thinks we're too dumb to understand it's set in the MCU without Iron Man.

This sentence typed up in my head immediately upon seeing the cover, and then I scrolled down and thought I was making myself see this sentence on my phone.

But it just has an insane drop in China. It's not impossible to pass it but it's definitely not a lock. We'll see in the next couple weeks and yeah obviously if inflation was factored in this SM:H wouldn't come close

This is still my favorite SM movie out of all of them, but I really just don't find any of them memorable or as fun as other super-hero movies. I also really loved the animated series so it's hard for me to not see those characters when I watch these movies.
