I think it would be cool if his suit at unlocked potential is what he is able to do, and Stark studied/engineered that. The suit is dampening his natural senses to get him used to what its like without any hold on him. Like he said, something about his eyesight getting fuzzy, or the googles help him focus. I like to think that the suit without Karen controlling is what his attuned spidey sense would be like.
I wish I had liked this crossover more than I did, considering how cool all 3 characters are. Still fun, but not my favorite. This Stacey Lee cover is gorgeous, though. Dang it do I miss her doing interiors on Silk. Silk was bit by the same exact spider that bit Peter before it died. Spider-Gwen was bit by a similar spider, but in a different universe. Jessica Drew Spider-Woman has a... more complex origin, lol, involving accidental gene splicing in the womb and Hydra training.
Created by that universe's Cindy Moon (Silk). Haha. I love how much of this stuff is just all over the place.
Some of you might enjoy this article I did on Sony wanting to build up a Spider-Man universe: 3 concerns about Sony’s Spider-Man universe tl;dr I don't think they have any real direction planned out yet. They also have a whole lot more villains than heroes. I don't think they have the rights to Miles since he's a newer characters, but they definitely will need a hero other than Peter at some point. (I vote Spider-Gwen to be one of them).
I was wondering if they had the license for Peter/Spider-Man only myself, because Miles was created post-Sony acquiring the Spider-Man cinematic license.
Sony does have the rights to Miles. He will in Sony's animated film next year. I think he is shared between Marvel and Sony.
Yeah, I don't know what 900 characters they'd have the licenses for. Although, having the rights to Gwen Stacy should give them the ability to do something Spider-Gwen related. I googled it and most sites didn't list out all 900 so it's kinda hard to say without seeing like the agreement or anything.
Ah that's good to know. I wasn't sure who it fell under since I don't know how frequent they update the licensing agreement with the list of characters. I hope that animated movie with him is good, though.
Finally caught up and saw this... -Good start. There's some issues I didn't like. Personally, I wouldn't have minded Ned having less of a role and not being involved like he was and continuing on with Aunt May being there for much of the emotional support Peter needed. Aunt May having a more meaningful role would've made the very, very end a little more impactful. I know that would be a little too similar to the past movies, but... -I really didn't feel bad on Peter. It felt like more of a learning experience, with neither of what was supposed to be "good" (Stark) and "bad" (Vulture) giving Peter motivation on how he should live and operate under the life of Spider-Man. In the end, he's not accepting either, but the future sequels have the opportunity to show him progress as the Spider-Man we know where he could reduce the technology on the suit, lives more on his own inclinations (maybe increase spider-sense this way), and be smarter in his thinking of finding, approaching, and handling new threats. Ultimately, it's great to get him closer to being a "non-teamer" help like in the comics through the gaining some respect from being a suitable opponent to Cap's side in Civil War and gaining full respect from Tony across both movies. -Keaton was one of the best MCU villains. I think the Damage Control set-up, how he was truly getting money and its concept in Spidey's end of the MCU was a good in the movie and, with his final scene, was a good set-up for future movies in the franchise. I think he still has the chance to be impactful in this franchise. -Just some of the issues were the timing continuity error, product placement, Aunt May usage, "MJ" comment, but nothing too big for me. Ultimately, solid start and there's potential to only go up from here.
For me, it's just slightly lower than Dr. Kafka with underlying dubstep in the realm of best possibilities.
It's crazy to see that people in such high places actually talk and think like that. I guess I forgot that all of us, even executives for goddamn Sony, are internet forum users on the inside
Marvel's shared some shorts for the new upcoming animated show ... these "origin" shorts retell the origin story: That's part 1. The new show starts next month I think. (First impression: Not as good as spectacular, little more on the Ultimate side, but I'll probably give it a watch to see what they do with it.)
We should add this to the podcast that I'm going to keep bugging you about until we record haha. Then we can talk about the full show down the road whenever it wraps.
