If Spider sense ensures he never got hit or is also people sensing, then the movies/comics would be so boring. And with the people walking in, maybe his spider sense never went off because there was no real danger? If that's the way it worked wouldn't it be going off non stop? It'd be more distracting than helpful at that point.
It doesn't ensure he never gets hit, but it would ensure he's not surprised by a punch out of the blue. And yes, it is people sensing and no it does not make the comics boring. Nope, it goes off to protect his "secret identity." It would not be going off non-stop, but it would go off when he was about to unmask in front of another person.
I don't know more than you to go into a full debate about it, so I'll take your word. Wouldn't the spider sense going off when he was about to unmask be too late though. Spiderman would still have to explain why he is in Peter Parker's room both times
Some version of the above is a given in most of the comics. (In the more recent ASM run it's even more powerful and can do some pretty nutso stuff.)
By "unmask" I was clearly referring to going into the room with another person watching / dropping down and not knowing Aunt May was standing there / etc. ... the entire process of giving up your secret identity, not one tiny part of it.
Maybe that's just not how spider sense works in the MCU? He very clearly has it in these movies (Infinity War teaser, ducking whatever Bucky threw at him and sensing that something was up before Ant Man took Cap's shield back in Civil War). It's kind of up in the air with how it works right now, though.
I disagree with it being clear he has it in the I do, however, agree that they have decided to write the character with unclear powers and abilities when the script declares it and the SM they gave us in CW was very different than what we saw in this film. If he has the ability to sense danger, in any traditional or even slightly close to traditional sense of what "spider-sense" means ... then there's some big plot holes in Homecoming. They'd be better off just saying his powers are developing and he's slowly getting more of them/more powerful.
Perhaps his Spider-sense is an evolutionary ability? Maybe in the MCU's incarnation he develops it? Im just trying to grasp.
I think in the next movie he's already stretching and turning into an unstoppable rock monster, so, that'd be a smidge unrealistic.
This looks familiar. Even though Ned was 100% Ganke in this, I refuse to ever call him Ganke simply because I can't accept Peter stealing Miles' best friend. I'm just forcing myself to believe that Ned has a little brother who's a lot like him or something, lol. I really liked how they handled the spider-sense in CW. Felt like a similar take to what was in ASM, with the whole sensory overload aspect. Too bad Homecoming totally glossed over that and leaned WAY too much into the suit instead. Sick. Love it. Stop giving Peter what belongs to Miles! lol.
Speaking of characters with a venom blast, I'm still waiting for Jessica Drew Spider-Woman to show up somewhere. Don't know if her rights are with Marvel or Sony, but she'd be great in a Black Widow movie, or Avengers, or Captain Marvel, or Sony's Silver & Black, or Agents of SHIELD, or on Netflix... So many options that'd fit the character. Make it happen! My favorite Spider character after Peter and Miles.
