I was really surprised too. I love Spider-Man, he's the only superhero I'm interested in really, and I'm not a big comic book reader anymore. I could care less if the movie is faithful to the source material. I was just looking at this as a story in a vacuum really and it worked so well. Because I'm not really a fanboy, I wasn't going to try to love the movie if I didn't, you know? But it turns out I didn't need to try. Glad you weren't disappointed man, that's awesome
I don't expect Spider-Man to have legs as good as Wonder Woman solely because of Apes and Dunkirk being released so soon.
I really want to see this again. Tons of fun. The more time has gone since seeing it, the more I just want to pop back in. Been a stressful week at work so it will be a good escape for the weekend.
Seeing this tonight. I can't remember the last time I had options for movies to see.....theater on my block is playing this, Big Sick, Baby Driver and War of the Planet of the Apes. Couldn't go wrong with any of those choices.
The Baby Driver hype has me intrigued, a buddy of mine has seen it three times now and he's a tough sell with movies
Just got home from this. I loved it, but the other 2 people I was with hated it. Which is weird cuz I hate all marvel movies and they love them.
My honest complaints on the movie tho: 1. The timeline doesn't make sense with the established events in the MCU, especially with Civil War happening before. 2. The Shocker was kinda lame. 3. The bit with Peter rising out of the rubble was really cheesy. 4. Not enough Donald Glover.
Besides the dual reflection and the line of voiceover, I thought that scene worked really well. Tom really sold it
Just watched it. Very good. Love all the shots in Queens, especially Sunnyside. Every time I'm there they keep trying to convince me to move back.
Same here! I love early on in the movie he's web slinging in Astoria around the corner from where I used to live. I liked how they incorporated every borough into the film (while the story never takes place in the Bronx, the high school he goes to is actually shot at Bronx Science high school)
Honestly wonder how this movie's gonna end up and what Marvel/Sony consider a success. I know the whole film budget, multiple x2 to factor in advertising is considered breaking even, but, what are they gonna consider a success here?
Thought I'd post this here since a lot of people though Spidey didn't have Spider-Sense. www.ign.com/articles/2017/07/15/avengers-infinity-war-trailer-shows-spider-mans-spidey-sense
Just got out. The John Hughes type of stuff was great, the actual Spider-Man stuff..... not so much for me. I hated that he was basically Iron Man.
