If the animated Miles film succeeds, I'd love to see a sequel that used the Spider-Men premise but used Spider-Gwen instead of 616 Peter. (I know Miles and Gwen recently had their own crossover, which could also be an influence, but I like Spider-Men a lot more. Use Mysterio for it!) The style Robbi Rodriguez brings to that book would be fantastic in animation.
I would lose my mind. I am so excited for the Miles animated film. I have a guess it's going to be my favorite Spider-Man movie.
Same, though that's unfortunately a slightly lower bar than I'd like it to be, especially 6 films and 3 actors in.
What all has been announced for the animated film that has people that excited? I know Miles will be the star and Green Goblin will be the villain but other than those I haven't heard anything to get me that excited just yet.
Of course you haven't, oakworst. Of course you haven't. We actually don't know for sure that Green Goblin will be in the film, though that being Liev's character does make sense considering his role in Miles' origin. Anyways, you can get a feel for what we know so far about the film here: Movie - untitled animated Spider-Man film (Persichetti & Ramsey; Dec 14, 2018)
Finally saw this today and really fucking liked it. Spider-Man has always been neck and neck with Batman for my favorite superhero, but I haven't really been crazy about any of Spider-Man's movies. While there were a few choices I still wouldn't have made with this movie, this is definitely now my favorite film adaptation. Holland is perfect in the role, and I'm glad the MCU tie-ins weren't as shoe-horned in as I thought, they all fit naturally into the story I think. Keaton is a fucking awesome actor and this was no exception, he was definitely one of the stronger MCU villains, a problem they've struggled with for most of the movies, which I was glad about. Wasn't really crazy about Zendaya's character at all and I hope they make a few changes if they're really going the route that it seems they're going to. I did love seeing a bunch of comedians/comic actors that I love popping up in small roles like Hannibal Buress, Martin Starr, and of course Donald Glover Overall I'm really happy with this movie and can't wait for more
$12 million on Monday and $15 million on Tuesday. So far it's the highest Monday and Tuesday for a CBM this year, beating WW and GotG 2. It will be interesting to see if this film has as good of legs as WW.
I get why they have Stark give him the suit but it still sucks. It would have been better if he kinda had one already and Stark helped upgrade it or something. There was no way we were getting him making the entire suit himself. Not in the MCU.
Also where can they really go with the next movie? The Avengers are just upstate so if anything major happens wouldn't they show up?
Not if it's a small scale villain like the Vulture was. Though, they did say another MCU character will take the place of Iron Man in the sequel so Spidey will still have help.
Really liked this. Good humour, good banter from Spidey which we all love. Thought Michael Keaton was great. Overall, a great addition/beginning to the new MCU Spider-man legacy. The whole monument scene was awesome.
I know it's been said that the soundtrack and score is pretty unremarkable, but the sound design is really great; particularly during the pre-dance scene at Liz's house and the Coney Island beach scene.
This movie is so so great. I would say this movie is pretty much a full on comedy, and that's fine with me. the opening with Peter's footage of Civil War was such a nice idea too. I love all the connected tissue to the MCU in this movie, they did it so right.
The replay value on this thing is what surprised me. Im a total fanboy. Legit counted down the days from like 400-0, and I was even surprised how I loved it more with each viewing.
