I mean it doesn't look anything like it though. Stark made his regular suit too. It looks way more like the big spider regular suit from right after the clone saga than re Iron spider suit.
Personally hope they don't use that suit. Less tech please. More small stories first if that's your implicit promise at the end anyway. Also it didn't look very good.
Anyone done an analysis of the 8 years later thing. Cause it feels like a continuity error on first glance to me.
It is an error. This film takes place in 2016 with Civil War and the Avengers definitely did not take place in 2008.
I'm not a fan of super hero movies with the exception of Batman and X-Men but I absolutely loved Spider Man. Such a fun movie. The only complaint I had was the MJ "reveal".
Definitely didn't think it was the Iron Spider costume. Just looked like an McU version of his costume. Actually didn't care for it too much. Movie was good, dug Vulture.
I feel like Peter was also a big fan of the Avengers when he was young in Ultimate Spider-Man too, though
Saw this tonight. I think that Marvel as a whole has become a bit cookie cutter-ish. At the same time, they've really nailed the aesthetic of super-hero movies and telling a story (even if they don't pick the best stories.) I think the movie plays out really well. I think that Tom Holland is a really great choice. I don't like some of the petty dialogue and the shallow side characters. I really loved Keaton and finally feel like a villain was fully fleshed out. The scene in the car on the way to the homecoming dance was excellent. No. Sky. Beam. I give it a 7.9/10.
They don't have much competition in terms of quality from DC at the moment. They're playing it safe and rightfully so.
All I could think at the end when Tony was showing him the new suit was "PLEASE DON'T TAKE IT" I thought it looked awful. The best suit in the film was the totally not Ben Reilly homemade suit. Hopefully he's not wearing a Stark suit in the sequel and is more y'know taking responsibility himself and coming up with plans to tackle enemies himself. He'll definitely be in the Stark suit in the Infinity films though.
I also feel like I didn't see the back of the main suit at all in the film. That can't be right but I just can't recall seeing it...
Kevin released a long statement on the MJ matter. SPOILERS: Kevin Feige Reveals Whether Or Not "MJ" = Mary Jane Watson In SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING
Man Marvel has to pull it together. That was such a silly thing to do. This movie really has Sony fingerprints all over it. I would've thought Marvel would have kept this stuff in check.
I had a genuinely great time seeing this. Definitely makes me excited about the future of the character. Thought Holland was great in this and was pretty happy to see Stark wasn't in the film nearly as much as the trailers made it out to be. The seen with Peter trapped under the rubble was a highlight for me.
