Still haven't seen that because the costumes put me off so much. I'll probably see it before the year ends, ha.
Oooohhhh boy. Actualy like the new Power Rangers movie adds many grains of salt to future opinions of this movie.
Do you really think Michelle is Mary Jane Watson because she said he friends call her MJ? I took that as more of an Easter egg instead of a reveal that she is the character from the comics
Yes. But I'm open to being wrong. But why bother calling her that if they would bring the "real" one in later?
Everything is definitely pointing to Michelle is serving as the MCU's version of Mary Jane Watson. Not the exact character, but serving her role, for sure. If they introduce the "proper" MJ later on, fine, but I'd like to see Zendaya take a bigger role in the next movie(s) and not just be cycled out like Liz was here.
Wait, is he trying to say if someone enjoyed Power Rangers that it somehow impacts their views on this movie?
I think so. I liked a "bad movie" (which is funny, cause I like lots of "bad" movies) therefore if I have something negative to say about this one in the future it won't "count" or something like that. Dunno. I said it before: Power Rangers was a blast, it's stupid as shit and awesome. Heh. Don't care. I also have probably obsessed over Spider-Man longer than most three people and I'm gonna have some opinions! Look out world.
I liked Power Rangers, and I liked Spider-Man Homecoming. Don't see how liking one negates liking/disliking the other.
I just find it funny how somebody who dislikes the first Spider-Man trilogy for all it got wrong about Spider-Man liking another movie that got everything wrong about what makes another franchise enjoyable. Chalk it down to caring about one franchise more than another but it sticks out to me. I've had similar conversations about Batman on film Vs. comics. Just my thoughts though. I'm super embarrassed about all those typos and my sentence construction.
1. That's only part of why I dislike the first Spider-Man trilogy. There's a boatload of reasons. I've discussed them for like a decade now. 2. I don't think PR got "everything wrong" about the franchise and I think the movie was a shit-ton of stupid fun. (I also fully admit it's a "bad" movie, that I enjoyed. SM is a bad movie that I didn't.) What's funny about thinking someone executed a new "version" of a franchise and story better than someone else? They're two different entities. They have no relation to each other and are viewed completely separate in my brain. I'll gladly love a Spider- series that takes a new spin of the character if I think it's well done. My intense love for Spider-Gwen, Miles, and some 4 decades at least of ASM, and multiple animated series, speaks to that.
I like Michelle so I'm hoping she has a bigger role in the next film, but she didn't seem like MJ from the comics. Maybe they're going to make her MJ by name and have none of the characteristics of the comic counterpart.
oh we're talking about the PR movie now the PR movie is better than every MCU movie and is also the best movie of this decade and possibly of all time. no but for real i love that movie. im the kind of person that can not laugh and still find something funny, that can not shout out loud but still be thrilled, that can not cry but still be deeply saddened when it comes to something like a film. but i literally shouted and cheered at like half a dozen moments in that PR movie. ill always cherish that experience. similarly the Avengers and Spiderman 2 also gave me those moments which i think play a big part into why i love the latter so much
I get why some liked Power Rangers. Wasn't for me. What was the final post-credit scene for Homecoming? I didn't stay for it.
I also enjoyed Power Rangers. The show has 20 plus seasons and the best seasons diverted from the norm the most. The movie doing its own thing makes total sense for that franchise.
