This is a valid point. Age has a lot to do with it. In fact, I was 12-15 when first Spider-Man came out. But, didn't you like those movies until 3 came out? I remember you talking about how 3 ruined the trilogy (which I can't really argue against).
I liked the movies more when I was younger than I do now. I made excuses for them in the same way I did the Star Wars prequels at the time. I wanted to like them. But with hindsight and way too many repeated viewings, I see their extreme flaws and how they don't get better with age. Unlike something like Indiana Jones (1 and 3 at least). And three helped crash that glass bubble. Once I saw that one, it was like ... hmmm, maybe I was ignoring flaws before. I was. And when that dam opened... the fundamental character mistakes at every turn just came rushing out.
My personal hell: Hulk and Spider-Man 3 on repeat while I have only orange Starburst to eat and have to fold a fitted sheet for eternity.
Yeah this makes total sense. I felt the same way, but the first two movies meant so much for me at the time, I continue to accept them even with the flaws I was too young to notice back then. Flaws and all, Spider-Man 2 has been the greatest and most meaningful Spidey in film era for me. A Dashboard Confessional music video with scenes from the movie, a Yellowcard song, and an insanely good PS2 game? It was too much good at the same time.
They're the Busted of candy. Disgusting reminders that you should be eating better flavors and listening to better music and watching better movies. Turd flavor. Gross.
The Yellowcard song was the best part of SM2. I can divorce it from that movie pretty well though. Ryan wrote Spidey better in that song than the movie did.
Like Tobey's inability to act like a real human, orange starburst don't even taste like oranges ... they taste like someone rubbed an orange across a chicken turd and wrapped it in sugar.
That Spiderman 2 Soundtrack is great. Dashboard, Yellowcard, Jet, Hoobastank and Midtown songs were all great. Also we got that TBS song before WYWTB came out
Yikes. That's some bad shit. Dashboard song is fine, Yellowcard is good, Midtown is good. The rest are all orange starburst.
Hoobastank, Train, Jet, Lostprophets, Maroon 5, Smile Empty Soul .... *makes Tobey train face thinking of this music*
I loved that Jet song. The Ataris', Ana Johnson's and Jimmy Gnecco's songs were also good. I don't know about now but I loved Train's song back then. Maroon 5 was still enjoyable to me back then and Lostprohets wasn't disturbing.
"If the music from bands that appeared on The OC in season 4 and no one remembers now were a movie soundtrack."
