Also since I think this thread will see a lot more foot traffic PLEASE PLEASE go see Baby Driver. Best action film you'll see all year, with a wonderful sound track as a bonus.

Dear lord. Fuck this thread. Thanks for using spoiler tags, but I'm out until the film is actually released tomorrow.

yeah it feels like there's a scene missing where tony either regrets agreeing with Sokovia Accords or tells Peter some reason why he's ok with him taking on thugs in NYC. I guess since he's got Favreu watching him Tony is ok with it? I'm not sure. I figured he'd introduce him as Peter Parker which would've been a neat little reference to the comics but I guess they're maybe saving that for something

  6. I've never felt like the movies actually had weight or consequences to be honest.

Some don't, mostly the smaller ones like Ant Man and Dr Strange that have these kinda "wow maybe the avengers should know about that" plot points that never really get addressed. But I think Avengers, AoU, Winter Soldier, and Civil War have had the biggest consequences with SHIELD being disolved by Hydra, the various battles, the Sokovia incident, etc but then there's stuff like Thor/Thor 2 that don't have as much impact which is odd.

I didn't mean for this to come across as dick-ish as it did and I realize now how mean spirited it is so sorry @Greg and everyone else didn't mean to bring hostility into an otherwise nice thread

Winter Soldier was great and the severity of a machine targeting civilians used to protect them was intimidating I thought. Plus people trying to assassinate Nick Fury and Captain America made it feel like a spy movie a bit. Action scenes were good and no sky beam.

Conflicting thoughts on this, there was a lot I really liked but also a lot that just didn't work for me. I think it's the first Marvel film that I've really felt suffered from trying to tie into the MCU. Vulture was probably my favourite part. I agree with a lot of what Nick said on the last page, a lot of this just isn't what I want personally as a Spider-Man fan.

  12. And Tobey is bad. He's a bad PP, he's a bad actor, and he hurts the movie.

  13. Thoughts in this thread make me think I'll love and be insanely frustrated by this movie. Haha.

TM is still the best Spider-Man/PP and Spider-Man 2 stands shoulder to shoulder with The Dark Knight, Superman, and X Men First Class (IMO ofc)

I will defend all 3 Rami movies till I die and you can't stop me Jason

Homecoming and ASM1 are quite good though. ASM2 is Green Lantern/Steel/BvS levels of "this hurt me to watch"

ASM2 is still easily my favourite Spider-Man movie, mainly because of how good that Spider-Man is. I think Garfield is easily the best Spider-Man so far and probably the best Peter too.

I still don't think there's been a truly great Spider-Man movie though, none of them are up there with the best of the genre and I probably only like them as much as I do because Spider-Man is my fav.

Andrew Garfield looks like a model and like, towers over most of the cast. I don't buy him as PP but his quips as SM are pretty funny

I hate the casting for Peter, Mary Jane and Harry in the Raimi movies so that's three strikes immediately right off the bat lol

Glad Iron Man wasn't in it as much as the trailers let on. In fact, i'd say he didn't really add too much to the film.

But yeah. The film was awesome. Holland was born to play Spidey.
