Same, but this is the film I'm more cautious about compared to any other upcoming MCU film. I'm hoping Sony didn't push for anything stupid to put in this film.

Here's an interesting little article about Sony and Marvel working together with some details on future Spideyverse films:

How Sony Learned to Cede Control to Marvel on 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'

Most notably: Carnage confirmed to be in Venom, they're working on Kraven and Mysterio spinoffs, Homecoming's sequel will also feature a MCU character a la Stark in this (but not Tony again)

Just read Iron Man will not appear in the sequel.

I feel like Carnage was a forgone conclusion for the Venom film. I'm still hoping they organically fit Cletus Kassidy into Eddie Brock's narrative instead of awkwardly throwing him into the third act. If they use the Sin Eater article failure in Brock's comic book origin, that's a great way to fit Kassidy into his character arc.

I think the best place for Kraven would be either the Homecoming sequel (maybe introduce Jameson, actually address his complex reasoning for hating Spidey, and have him hire Kraven) or Silver & Black (he and his half brother, Chameleon, have their roots in Russia, which could fit the international scope that a Silver Sable film should have). Mysterio, my favorite Spider-Man villain, would probably work best in the animated Miles Morales film. Neither could carry a spinoff the way Venom, Black Cat, and Silver Sable can, but maybe they meant these characters will be introduced in spinoffs, not that they'll be main characters.

Overall, I'm very excited to see the Spider-Man world fleshed out so much in film. I'm skeptical that film separate from Feige's creative guidance will ever fully integrate into the MCU, but I'm enough of a Spidey fanboy to happily eat up multiple films tied to the character per year, lol, regardless of how connected they are. Whether or not they succeed financially or critically, I hope they all tickle my fancy.

As for the Homecoming sequel featuring another MCU character in a prominent role... I'm cautiously alright with that. Thank goodness it won't continue to be the Tony Stark show, but I would like to see Spidey get a chance to exist on his own again. Still, I've always enjoyed a good Marvel Team-Up comic, so maybe that'll help keep things interesting. Doctor Strange is probably the most interesting current eligible candidate for me at the moment.

I wouldn't be surprised if Doctor Strange is the MCU character in Homecoming 2.

I'd especially like it if that sorta took the place of Doctor Strange 2 in Phase 4 (assuming they still use "phases" beyond Avengers 4). Spider-Man stories with a mystical edge can be really fun, and I tend to prefer Strange when he interacts with other characters.

Yeah I don't think they'll go weird enough to really make Doctor Strange on his own work as well as it could so he's better off just showing up in other films.

We need a film with Mordo as the villain! Especially after the end credits. They better not leave him without a return. My wish would be Spider-Man/Doctor Strange film with Mysterio as the villain.

Yeah, another vote for Spider-Man/Strange vs. Mysterio. That would be perfect.

I would love a Strange team up for Mysterio.

Mysterio is my favorite Spidey villain... but a smoke-and-mirrors, sleight-of-hand villain would be a bad fit for the Sorcerer Supreme, lol. ASM Annual #2 used some sorcerer named Xandu, and Annual #14 used Doom, so you could just use Mordo in a Spider-Man film. (I forget if Mordo and Spidey have clashed before, but they did in the 90s cartoon, which worked well enough.)

I guess you could have Mordo empower Mysterio with real magic, but since he's been set up as someone who hates abuse of magic, I don't think that'd fit too well. Maybe he could be a decent opening action sequence villain, as a fun contrast to the real magic later on?

Another fun angle would be if they somehow touched on the mystical side of Spidey's powers, as revealed in the Straczynski run with Ezekiel and Morlun (maybe also giving an excuse to include Silk!) but maybe that'd be a hard sell for a Spidey film?

Morlun would be cool to see. Could potentionally open the doorway for Blade in the future.

Blade might be hard for a Marvel film, depending on how dark they're willing to go. Not that he has to be part of a full on blood bath like the classic films, but the tone at least needs to be somewhat darker. The Netflix shows and Agents of SHIELD (especially Ghost Rider) are in good Blade territory, even if neither place is a great fit narratively.

Still, if they can pull it off, I'd totally take a return to theaters for Blade. Heck, they could even just use Wesley Snipes, and then introduce Blade's daughter that got announced but then indefinitely postponed in the comics:

They SHOULD do that, but I feel like Marvel would be more likely to give him a Netflix show instead of a return to the big screen.

    ...or Hulu, ABC, Freeform...lol.

Would Blade fit well on those? Netflix has already established a darker tone for their Marvel shows and Blade would need that, considering he's a vampire.

I don't think ABC is in any hurry to pick up another Marvel show, seeing as SHIELD and Inhumans have both been tossed to Fridays in the fall. But, if they gave it like a 9 or 10pm slot, it'd definitely work. They moved SHIELD to 10pm last season and pulled off a darker tone rather well. I imagine the same would hold true for Freeform. I'm not as familiar with Hulu's original programming, but it'd probably work as well as Netflix.

  19. Wtf is this poster? I guess it's not as bad as the last one, but I can't make sense of the proportions.
