    I do not exist.

I sure hope so. That would be a good use of Tony Stark. Anything else and I'm cautious...

Are any films judged more before they're even out than comic book films?

That's what happens when you make films about characters that have been loved by many, many people for roughly half a century in a variety of forms, especially in this age of social media, YouTube, blogging, and podcasts. *shrug*

I understand that, but none of us have any idea whether or not this movie will be good, or how any of the plot details we know will be contextualized. All this is doing is creating an expectation based around "I like that idea" or "I don't like the sound of that", and the more one fixates on that, the more rigid those expectations become. I just don't think it's good for moviegoing. Maybe a Spider-Man in-suit Jarvis will be bad. Maybe the movie will justify it and make it work. I have no clue. But knowing that detail shouldn't play as a bad or good thing before we've seen how it'll be used.

I get what you're saying, and you're not totally wrong. Speculation and discussion of that speculation can be fun, though. And, I've formed my own idea of what I wanted before while still being very happy with a different reality.

Besides, even if the Jarvis thing ends up being completely true and well done within the context of the film, it's still fair for a fan of the character to not like that decision for the character.

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Reveal: Logan Marshall-Green Will Play Shocker | Nerdist

In addition to Bokeem Woodbine playing the classic Herman Schultz Shocker, Logan Marshall-Green will be playing classic Spider-Man henchman Jackson "Montana" Brice, who became Shocker in the Spectacular Spider-Man animated series and also will here. So, Vulture will have two Shockers working for him.

Also, dunno if this was already mentioned, but...

Spider-Man: Homecoming Will Introduce Damage Control To The MCU

Tony Stark's Damage Control company from the comics, which cleans up after big superhero battles, will be introduced here.

We haven't gotten any updates since DC's Powerless series got underway, so I wouldn't be surprised if that derailed Damage Control a little. Or, maybe the decision to work it into here was a bigger factor. Either way, the Squirrel Girl New Warriors series seems to be filling the Marvel sitcom space that Damage Control at one point would've.

I suppose there's still the possibility of a spinoff series, but I'd imagine the Damage Control concept would work better as a recurring concept in the films and shows than as its own series.

  13. Looks very "techy" with the lines. Reminds me of what Stark wears under his armor:

I'm trying to build up hype for this movie, but Sony is holding me back. I'm glad we get to see more interactions between Peter and Tony, but beyond that and Keaton as Vulture there doesn't seem to be much that I'm excited for.

Keaton being the Vulture is honestly the only optimism I have for the character. Personally, Vulture is one of my least favorite SM villains. Would love more Shocker.

Yeah, the fact that there are stories coming out saying that at some point Sony and Marvel have a possibility of being finished working together makes me a bit iffy now.

In fact, it also makes me not so hyped for this new Spider-Man universe like I was before... That being said though, I'll still see this in theatres, but still I'm now unsure about the future =/

One can only hope that it does really fucking well and Sony are like.. yeah let's just keep doing this (instead of going it alone again). I find stuff to enjoy in all the prior movies though, unlike most but I want so much more from this one. Fingers crossed.

If they finally get their footing right with this movie, and then decide to try and boot Marvel, then Sony is being run by a bunch of idiots.

Tom Holland's current contract is for 3 Spider-Man films and 3 other Marvel films. That's Civil War, Infinity War, Avengers 4, Homecoming, the 2019 Homecoming sequel, and presumably a third solo film after that set in Peter's senior year. This all lines up with Kevin Feige's talk of Marvel putting out a full trilogy based on Spidey's 3 yrs in high school.

All that to say, I feel like Amy Pascal probably slightly misspoke. She's a producer but not any longer in the upper structure of Sony, and also not in the upper structure of Marvel Studios. Like she said, this is a pretty unique situation. She's probably just speaking to the complex ongoing negotiations behind the scenes.

  20. It's not hard to predict what this movie will be, especially after the last trailer.

It'll be an extended version of Tony and Peter's scenes in Civil War, with more action and more characters.

So if you liked that, you'll love this?

    Sold lol

I've actually liked Tony a lot more in the other Marvel movies than I did in his own 2nd and 3rd IM movies. And they nailed Spidey in Civil War.

I'm just looking forward to getting a 6th straight Spider-Man movie that isn't everything it could be to hold me over before the animated Miles Morales finally nails the first truly great Spider-Man film.

(And also eagerly awaiting more on that Venom film that could be a surprise hit, but I'm fully aware I'm alone in that.)

I don't trust Sony with anything Spider-Man related anymore. The animated film and spin-offs have not interested me in any way and I'm a huge Venom fan. I wish Marvel could just purchase the rights for Spider-man.
