I love the Raimi movies (well, the first two) but as a life long spidey fan I am so excited for this. I thought just the scene in Civil War alone with Peter and Tony talking in Peter's bedroom nailed the essence of Peter/Spider-Man more than any of the other 5 movies.
Tate informally agree with you but come on, man. Spider-Man 2 is classic! Still my favorite super hero movie.
Despite Tobey, Spider-Man 2 is still my favorite. I can't even sit through the first or third ones though. Overall I enjoyed Amazing much more.
I like the ASM films more than the Raimi ones. Those films have issues but i love Garfield's Spiderman so much i can deal with them.
Spider-Man 2 > ASM > ASM2 > Spider-Man > Spider-Man 3 Tobey Maguire is a terrible Peter Parker/Spider-Man, but I think Spider-Man 2 has the best story.
The first Spider-Man is my least favorite 'cause it has the least to offer me. SM2 has the best villain of the 5 films, and SM3 is at least bad in a way that's fun to watch. (Sandman reassembling himself in SM3 is also genuinely a better scene than anything in SM.) The ASM films are still my 2 fav, though. The first one left a stronger positive impact on me in the theater than any other Spidey film, and for all that the sequel did so terribly wrong, its highlights are the best moments in any Spider-Man film. I still believe that a cut of ASM2 could be made (by removing and rearranging stuff, and also adding a couple things from the deleted scenes) that'd be the best Spidey film. When the animated Spider-Man movie comes out, though, it'll be the best Spider-Man film ever made for the foreseeable future. Also looking forward to Homecoming, Venom, Silver Sable/Black Cat (assuming that actually materializes), the Homecoming sequel, and Spidey showing up in Infinity War and/or Avengers 4. Give me ALL OF THE SPIDER-FRANCHISES, YO. Let's get 2099 and Spider-Gwen going, too! lol.
Yep. It'll be about Miles Morales and produced by Lord & Miller. Comes out December 2018. Sony's Animated 'Spider-Man' Movie To Star Miles Morales
Spider-Man 2 is my favorite superhero film. Donner's first two Supermans and Nolan's first two Batmans are really close.
Honestly Logan's probably my favourite superhero film at this point with The Dark Knight a close second.
Dane DeHaan and Andrew Garfield are definitely better actors than James Franco and Tobey Maguire but yeah Doc Ock is a cool villain
I'm not sure I'd agree with that. Maguire is older so his body of work is bigger, but he has a better slate of interesting/great performances than Garfield (Spider-Man 2, Brothers, Gatsby, Wonder Boys, vs. Never Let Me Go, Social Network, and Silence). I like DeHaan, but Franco has Spring Breakers and a few solid comedic performances. In any case the Maguire/Franco performances are just in better movies, in at least Raimi's Spider-Man 2, than Garfield/DeHaan get in the ASM movies (and Dane, a very good actor, is very bad in ASM2. Partially due to abysmal writing).
When 2/3 of the movies are unwatchable, and the other is not nearly as good as people want to give it credit it for ... the answer is never the one that includes Spider-Man 3 in it. God I hate those movies.
Spider-Man 3 is bad in an amusing way. I rewatched ASM last year and it was so mediocre I didn't want to watch the worse sequel. Garfield's Parker is too much of a cool guy. Emma Stone is great though
I'm not big on his ASM or Hacksaw performances. I disagree, but have no qualms admitting he is talented and capable and has an interesting future, likely more so than Maguire.
