Ah yeah, that wasn't necessarily directed at you, just wanted to clarify because the previous tweet seemed to imply they might be directing (and I thought they were directing until I saw the follow up tweet which wasn't until after I posted before). You're right though, their writing is good enough and a great fit for Spider-man.

Good news. Cared more about it than Homecoming because of Lord/Miller, but Miles makes it even more interesting
Straight-up this is the most exciting comic book movie news for me since I don't even know when. There's a 100% guarantee that this is the best Spider-Man film ever. It's gonna be really hard to get my heart into Homecoming now that I have a Lord & Miller Miles Morales film on the horizon. Dang. I'm so happy.
I really hope it does well. Just like the DC animated films still coming out alongside the live action ones, I hope this starts a trend for Marvel as well.
Does Sony ever get anything 100% right though? Ha. Perhaps they want to delve into the animated game that DC has firmly owned for the past decade.
DC hasn't owned animated films in a long time, though? Besides Return of the Caped Crusader, I haven't seen a genuinely good one in a while. (Plus, those home media releases are a different beast from proper theatrical films.)
2.16 Superman: Unbound 2.17 Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox 2.18 Justice League: War 2.19 Son of Batman 2.20 Batman: Assault on Arkham 2.21 Justice League: Throne of Atlantis 2.22 Batman vs. Robin 2.23 Justice League: Gods and Monsters 2.24 Batman: Bad Blood 2.25 Justice League vs. Teen Titans I've enjoyed basically all of these to some degree. Some more than others, but to say they haven't had a genuinely good one in a while when 'Justice League vs. Teen Titans' and 'Gods and Monsters' were really good is strange. I'd, not surprisingly, say a lot of these are better movies than Marvel's released in the theatre.
Other than Killing Joke, I haven't really disliked any of the recent DC Animated stuff. Like Jason, I've enjoyed them all to varying degrees.
Forgot about Gods and Monsters. The whole modern wave of Batman ones since Flashpoint have been pretty rough, in my opinion. I liked Bad Blood in spite of itself because Batwoman and Grayson Batman are awesome, but I didn't really like the end. I downright hated Son of Batman, lol. I haven't watched any Justice League ones since then, but the clips I've seen of them just don't appeal to my tastes at all. I blame the incorporation of New 52 vibes. Hopefully they start getting more of a Rebirth vibe after Justice League Dark.
Fuck yeah to this. Spidey's my favourite superhero and I love the Miles arc. I also love Lord and Miller so this will be killer.
They have been pretty hit and miss since JL Doom IMO, which before then all the films were pretty great. I bolded the ones I thought were good because I'm lazy to make my own. Tim is right though, these aren't being released theatrically so its kind of a different beast. I wonder if Marvel is helping out with this to since its a different Spiderman?
Son of Batman was sooooo terrible. The league of assassins were as useless as they are on Arrow. The dialog... Batman leaving his son to fight the most dangerous Assassin while him and Tala make out in a cave.... Robin beating Deathstroke....The fights were terrible too.......so much blah. All that being said and dispite the title, Batman vs Robin was really good. They adapted the Court of Owls story pretty well for a shorter animated film. And Assault on Arkham is really good as well, its what Suicide Squad should have been: A team based movie where all the cast shines, they have a real mission, Joker is used great and Batman shows up sparingly and is awesome. Check those two out.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Marvel deal is what enabled this (since there were rumors at one point that Sony might not quite have all the Miles rights), but I can't see them actually having creative input in this. It's not connected to the MCU or any other franchise. Which, with Lord & Miller in charge, is a good thing. Let them run this film, and let Kevin Feige and company do their thing over in Homecoming, etc. We don't need two Feige Spidey projects. Everything I've seen of Attack on Arkham just looked bad, like a stereotypical comic book nerd's version of edgy. I wanted to watch it when I heard about it, but I just don't think I'd like it. That being stated, I'm sure it's a lot better than the Suicide Squad film, lol.
True, I want this animated film to be different and have its own feel, or else why do it? The only thing I could see Assault on Arkham being edgy with is having Harley sleeping with deadshot and showing it (look guys, sex in a cartoon! we are adults!) but other than that its just a pretty good action flick. Let me know how you like it if you give it a shot. Also not sure why it was promoted with tying into the arkham games..... It doesn't have anything to do with them and Batman is such a small part, having that title is literally just a cash grab lol.
