That's a bummer, he's great. 5 films ago would mean people only liked Iron Man 1 lol. He's only been in IM1, IM2, Avengers, IM3, Avengers 2 and Civil War.

I mean I hated Iron Man 2 and 3, but I just try and block those movies out of my head. Still love Iron Man's character.

I'm so glad Marvel is able to make films with Peter Parker. Trailer looks good. More Tony Stark is good too.

Iron Man 3 is unfairly maligned. It's a Shane Black movie where Marvel got in his way. A lot of people complain about the twist but it's a better comedic moment than just about any other Marvel comedy because it's actually part of the thematics and point of the film, while Marvel's usual humor is mostly just quips and one-liners that provide a surface texture.

Also Spider-Man 2 is perfect and Tobey Maguire's performance is incredible he is a phenomenal actor. Also no Marvel villain's performance or arc is anywhere near as good as Alfred Molina's as Doc Ock. I'm sorry, if too many people rag on the Raimi Spider-Man movies I have to get a post in defending them, ignore me

For what it's worth, I genuinely enjoy Spider-Man 1&2. Especially 2, it's a great film and probably has the strongest plot of any of the Spider-Man movies to date. Despite my earlier posts in this thread, I do actually like the character that Tobey Maguire plays, it's just not the Peter Parker I know from the comics/cartoon. It's a major flaw that I just can't get over. Every time I watch them it bugs me. That's why the Raimi movies don't completely work for me as Spider-Man movies, they just don't come close at all to capturing the essence of the character. They do have plenty of other elements that are great however, which is why I'm still able to enjoy them a lot. Also, I first watched those movies when I was a kid, so there's some nostalgia there too. Ultimately though, the ASM movies come much closer overall to what I think a Spidey movie should be.

I also thoroughly enjoy the first two spidey movies. Thought Maguire was great in both. I think the third just left a bad taste in everyone's mouth after the hype surrounding it.

Idk, I was just utterly bored by IM3. I left the drive-in about 45 minutes in.

I can agree with that, I never expected to love Cap as much as I do now. He's the character I look forward to seeing the most (besides Black Panther and Ant Man)!

Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 are good films, and even are decent Spider-Man films, but I always had a problem with Tobey Maguire's casting/performance. It's serviceable but it isn't quite what I want out of the character, especially when he's in-costume. That's really what brings those films down, for me. But Alfred Molina was excellent in Spider-Man 2 and set a new high water mark for comic book movie villains at the time. Homecoming looks like it's getting both Spider-Man and Peter Parker right, which has never been done before in a film, and that is the main reason why this trailer is so exciting.

Also Iron Man 3 is good.

Yeah, I mean I like Shane Blacks art but he had little Iron Man in a movie called Iron Man. The twist didn't make me mad, the fact that he could have summoned the "house party" or whatever he called it that called out all the iron man suits during his house attack and instead waited until the end was really bad story telling.

Iron Man 1 and 3 are solid. Iron Man 2 is a lesser movie but still okayish.

Not a fan of everything involving Tony Stark in this. I love that Peter Parker actually looks like a HS nerd.

but i have weird tastes in marvel movies in that I love Iron Man 3 and Thor is my favorite

Holland reminds me of Yelchin, which is weird, because he too was in a movie with Uncle Tony.

I said it from the moment I first saw him that he looks like Jamie Bell's younger brother. And their American accents even sound similar.

This trailer actually makes the movie look good. This is the first time that i've been excited for a Spider-Man movie after watching the first trailer.

I'm also glad to see Happy Hogan in the the MCU again.

I'm so excited to see Spiderman interact with Thor/Hulk/Dr Strange, one of my favourite things about Spiderman is how he interacts with other people so him being in the Marvel universe now is so good. I also can't wait to see GOTG interact with everyone. I'm still so not burnt out on superhero movies.

I'm hoping Spider-Man and Dr. Strange have a movie together similar to Hulk and Thor in Ragnorak. There is plenty of material to build it.

I'm not sure Marvel has maintained a great balance between characters organically interacting in a shared universe and their interactions feeling forced/existing to provide a rush of seeing these characters together. The first Avengers nailed it, and Winter Soldier mostly worked, but none of the following Marvel films have had completely justified thematic and character reasons for their crossovers. Civil War, for all it did very well, had that issue as well. So I can't say I'm excited to see Iron Man and Spider-Man hanging out, or Hulk and Thor going on an adventure, or Bucky being a prominent part of Black Panther.
