Speaking of putting other characters in, Vincent D'Onofrio had a tweet the other day implying he wants to be in a Spider-Man film. Actors say stuff like that all the time, so I wouldn’t read into it as something that’s actually happening, but I’ve been pro Sony using Kingpin for a while. Especially since Spider-Verse showed that they do have some sort of access to the character. Don’t know the nuances of how his contract with Netflix & Marvel would affect Sony’s rights, though I think that’s expiring soon anyways? And, he’s another character who could organically fit into this story. Would be a really fun recurring side character for this world.
I just want each character to be able to have their moments with breathing room. I want to see Venom and Spidey together but I really want that to be the focus when it happens. Same with any possible Spider-Man from the spiderverse. I agree, Venom 3 with Spider-Man would be ideal. I also think Spider-verse, if they do it, should be it’s own film.
Well, this thread is certainly a buzz kill. Jesus. I can’t wait to see Strange in Spidey 3. I bloody love a team up. Based on the short amount of time they got in IW, I think this could be a lot of fun.
Vincent D'Onofrio in a Spidey film as Kingpin would be a dream come true. The man is perfect for that role. I'd be worried about how much they would water him and Venom down to be PG-13 and "family friendly", but I'd still love it. I agree that all of that could be a lot in one film and make a mess, though
Well, damn! EDIT: wait, that article was from 15 hours ago and no major outlets reporting on it? I'll hold off getting excited just yet.
FandomWire never gets confirmations, but they did post about “talks” with Jamie Foxx before it was announced. It will be interesting to see if we get an official confirmation within the next week.
Yeah, seemingly not a reputable source. I’m not familiar with ‘em like I am WGTC, but seems to be a similar bs clickbait blog. The more connected scoopers aren’t corroborating. Saw one source claim Feige is interested in making this happen eventually, but not in Spidey 3. Which, is something I believe. If Multiverse of Madness ends up being the MCU film that Spidey was signed on for during the contract extension, could see at least one of ‘em at least having a cameo in it. But definitely nothing official as of now.
Was looking into that Fandom Wire Spidey 3 “scoop” again, just out of curiosity. And apparently it was posted by Andy Signore, who was fired from Screen Junkies after being outed as a creep to fans online & now rails against “cancel culture.” And, other posts on Fandom Wire include another Spidey 3 post from someone else claiming that Kraven, Green Goblin, & Nick Fury/SWORD are all also involved, lol... as well as “14 reasons why Harry Potter will always be better than Twilight.” (Also, apparently Andy is now trying to feud with Grace Randolph over who really broken the Tobey & Andrew “scoop”? lol, the world of superhero movie gossip is such trash.) So, yeah, probably should put that site in the same trash column as We Got This Covered & Cosmic Book News, lol.
Some people on Reddit also scooped around and found out that the story came from DanielRPK’s patreon, so it’s probably not legitimate, although Daniel is pretty solid.
There's now a new "scoop" floating around these trash websites that they've cast Miles for this too. The only things I'm buying are the scoops coming from THR, Deadline, The Wrap (unless it's El Mayimbe), and at times Collider.
It’s still a little early for Miles being that Peter is still in high school unless Miles wasn’t snapped and has aged 5 years while Peter didn’t.
I’m not believing anything until it’s from a highly reliable source. Marvel and Sony should know not to overcrowd another Spider-Man film so any other characters appearing isn’t very believable.
All these casting rumors just keep reinforcing that MCU Spider-Man is the least interesting project they have going. Just give me Spider-Woman, Silk, and more Spider-Verse Miles please.
No one really knows what Sony's plans are just yet. Any bit of planning they have with Marvel Studios will most likely factor into that (aside from Spider-verse 2), so in a way figuring this stuff out first is necessary.
I forgot that Kraven was originally predicted to appear, and combined with Spider Slayers, it does make sense/could be cool
I would gladly take Kraven and Spider Slayers. I would expect a title announcement soon due to the fact that both the Far From Home title and the 2nd Homecoming trailer premiered on Kimmel.
I’m still rooting for that Kraven film Sony’s developing to happen, directed by J.C. Chandor, with Art Marcum & Matt Holloway currently working on the script. So, if he’s confirmed for this one, hope he’s signed on for both films.
The best of both worlds. Introduce Kraven in Spider-Man 3 and then have Sony's Kraven film adapt Last Hunt.
I feel like Kraven and Dr Strange were two of my least favorite characters back in the day when I read Spidey comics, now those are the two I most want to see in a film with him haha.
