An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I really want to see Michael Mando in action, I hope they bring him back

more Toomes would be great too

Maybe I should take this over to the bad opinions thread but I’ll still take Garfield’s movies over maguire’s

I’d like to see Garfield’s Spider-Man in a film written by Raimi. That would be a treat.

I love both of them. Honestly I think I love all of the Spider-Man films in some way.

  7. 100% agree. I generally have no issues with the stories/plots of Raimi’s trilogy but god damn do I find Tobey unbearable to watch.

I agree, kinda the low point in Bill Murray’s career.

Garfield as Parker and Franco as Harry would be great. I’d at least pay to watch it.

I can't stand any of the Tobey/Franco/Dunst main cast tbh. 2 is still a great movie, but they're all unwatchable in 3

Hurt and confused Harry in SM2 is the best Harry. Angsty Harry in SM3 is trash mainly due to the script.

2 is the only one of the Raimi trilogy where I can even sort of stand Tobey and Harry.

ASM1 was wretched enough for me to not want to watch 2.

Both ASM films are my least favorite Spider-Man films. I didn’t like the villains at all which is what my favorite thing about the Spider-Man franchise (outside of Spider-Man, of course) is.

As a long time vocal Tobey detractor, he is the perfect Peter for the tone that Raimi was going for. I’d hate to see him return under any other director, but I also couldn’t see any other Spider-Man actor in those films.

His only problem is that he sucks at any kind of big serious emotions. (Why was his mask off for that train scene!?) But, when he’s keeping it more mellow, or occasionally intentionally cartoonish, he’s perfect for the films Raimi made.

Kirsten as MJ sometimes works for the tone like Tobey does, but she’s a bit too weak & doesn’t have enough fire to really be MJ. Not that she has to be exactly like the comics character (not like any cinematic Peter has been yet), but there’s something missing there, which Zendaya’s MJ nails much better. Hard to tell how much of that is in how the character was written vs actual performance.

I just generally dislike James Franco.

I’m in the minority that does really like Dane DeHaan in the role of Harry Osborn. Really wish we could’ve gotten more out of him before that series imploded.

There’s a lot about the core story of ASM2 that I really love & would’ve liked a refined version of, but I also think even the best version of that wasn’t the right next step if the Andrew Garfield version was gonna have any longevity.

What that film should’ve been is the Peter, Gwen, & Flash of ASM (why has Flash literally never gotten his due in any iteration?) going to college & meeting the Harry of ASM2, along with the abandoned Shailene Woodley Mary Jane they almost had (to the point where she shot a scene with Gwen). No death of Gwen Stacy, Green Goblin, etc., at least yet. Instead, spend a film hanging out in that Stan Lee/John Romita college Spidey space that I love so much. Think they could’ve had a fun dynamic. Then, you can do The Death of Gwen Stacy in the third one.

I think Tobey is really good in most emotional scenes. I like Dane DeHaan as an actor but god his whole deal in that movie was terrible.

I really liked Tobey as Spider-Man and thought he did really well in emotional/dramatic scenes. Andrew wasn’t bad I just didn’t like him as much Tobey. Tom is really good too. He’s probably my favorite out of the 3.

If we're just going live action, it's pretty easily Garfield > Holland > Maguire for me. I really loved Garfield in the role and wish he had more time in it. He deserved a lot better than what he was given to work with in ASM2 (which absolutely should've been what Tim pitched a few posts up)
