Ned says he is watching porn when he is caught in the computer lab. Edit: someone already posted a video. Oops
I dunno, I kinda suspect that everyone posting in this thread who saw this movie wanted to enjoy it. Also, I'm pretty sure I've seen you in Star Wars threads post-TLJ, so I have trouble believing this is the most cherry picking you've seen, lol.
I think I’m one of the few that liked Talos acting as Fury. The idea of Skrulls getting more involved with Earth (to the point that Talos monitors SHIELD) excites me and the more Mendelsohn, the better.
Oh please, I liked TLJ and have never straight out bashed it in any threads. FFH seems like it has a target on it’s back.
He didn't want to until Peter found out about his real plan and stopped him. He had every intention of letting Peter and his friends go on and live normal lives until Peter and MJ found the projector and figured out what was really going on. From there, he planned on killing everyone who could expose him (which at this point was Fury, Peter, MJ, and Ned), but when Peter stopped him, he made the whole thing seem like it was Peter's doing so he could still go out the hero.
I’ve seen fundamental storytelling and character motivation/reasoning flaws discussed. That seems like the opposite of a cherry pick.
I did not like this movie and am talking about why, the same way I talk about why I like or don’t like movies in other threads. I explained why I had moderate hopes and was let down. My love for Spider-Man and his world do make me more frustrated than your average bad movie, since I’m not going at length about why I didn’t like something like Yesterday. But plenty of people really like the movie, hell it’s got like 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, so I don’t know how it feels like it has a target on its back.
Lol ah yes, as soon as I saw the thumbnail I remembered. That got a good laugh out of me the first I saw it
I'm not saying you personally bashed it. I don't remember your overall take on the film, tbh. I'm only saying that, someone who's been around conversations online about that film, thinking this is a film having a target on its back, is funny to me. I'm honestly glad you & a lot of other people loved this. As much as I'm ripping into it, I didn't hate my experience sitting in Cinemark w/ a bunch of friends on Tuesday night. I just have a LOT that I really, REALLY hate or am baffled at about this film, & enjoy articulating those things.
I’m talking about this thread specifically. I haven’t seen nearly as much hate. Maybe people here are more critical for SM films.
I just checked out of curiosity, & not only am I unsurprisingly the top poster in this thread by an over 10 post lead, but this here is actually my 100th post in here.
I think it makes sense that more people feel more passionately (whether it be positive or negative) when it comes to something like Spider-Man. He's a character/franchise a lot of people really care about, so the people that love it are more likely to REALLY love it and the people that didn't like it are going to be a lot more vocal about their problems with it.
@Tim just curious, how did this stack up against Venom for you? Maybe I'm interpreting it wrong but it seems like you may have enjoyed Venom more?
I’m not saying people shouldn’t be critical of the film or say what they didn’t like. It would be weird too if everyone was bowing down to it and ignoring its flaws.
Actually, @CobraKidJon has a nearly 50 post lead on me in the Into the Spider-Verse thread, which...isn't surprising, lol. And, apparently @Jason Tate beat me in the Homecoming thread. In the general Spider-Man thread & the Venom thread, though... I've apparently had a LOT to say about Venom. Oh, you're not wrong. I very much so enjoyed Venom more.
I see the complaints people have but I guess I just think that Peter's been through some shit and he's ready to take a break. Losing Tony made him realize how dangerous super-heroing is and he's also struggling with the mantle Tony seems to have bestowed upon him, it all makes perfect sense to me that he'd struggle and want to take a step back.
Just saw the movie. I have a lot of thoughts... but it was good/alright I suppose? Not better than Homecoming, but some fun moments.
ok so here is some general thoughts on it: It was a decent movie but also I now have to judge every movie to spider-verse and that’s just not fair. It felt like the movie didn’t need to be 2 and a half hours long. I know this is just me speaking but I would have kept it around 2 hours. the ned and Betty stuff was unnecessary and why no info on Flash’s mom like what the heck. also one last thing that annoyed me was how when he first puts on Edith he can instantly find info on everyone yet he doesn’t even bother to try it on mysterio just to see what is up WHAT THE HECK
It definitely could have been done better if it wasn’t a post credit scene but the idea that the Skrulls are still deeply involved is exciting.
