In this version of the commercial I just saw there's footage of him using the doc oc-like tentacles in his suit and also a scene where he's basically flying (with a dark, space looking background) and appears to have totally mastered it
He isn't? Shouldn't 616 Peter know who Miles and other Spider people are? I guess you're right from some googling, though. I misunderstood what the movie's creators were getting at when they said he's a combination of different Peters. Also, just saw your edit - totally agree about Holland, I'd never consider him a part of the 616, and I do think Peter B. Parker is much closer than Holland's Peter
Is it different from the "tentacles" scene that was at the beginning of the trailer released yesterday before he jokes to the cops that he's doing their job for them?
One idea I saw was the E specifically could designate it as an alternate 616, or separate, from the comics while not being "identical."
Slightly, it's probably from the same scene but before that part of it. Would like to see it again but it was a very quick commercial.
I'll admit that I never really paid attention to what Earth the MCU was technically taking place on. So while 616 would be inaccurate based on what's out there, there's always a chance it could be a scene that was cut from the movie and actually wouldn't be a relevant comment from Mysterio. If I'm not mistaken, Rogue One had stuff in a trailer that wasn't in the movie, right? That seems like the best case scenario aside from Mysterio just being a big fat liar and making everything up as he goes. If neither of those happens to be the case, then we're all going to need Marvel to do some explainin'.
Yeah I’m surprised the heads at Sony and Marvel Studios didn’t have it altered because they had to have known about it. I won’t like it either if they deliberately used 616 as that’s already an existing universe in the comics.
Should be an easy fix (but I'm still skeptical about a multiverse in general because it almost always goes wrong and the storylines get ridiculous).
It has to be. The teaser trailer from January has Fury saying, "It's nice to finally meet you, Spider-Man." Looking back, that was an obvious lie since they met at the funeral.
Eh, Fury only showed up at the very back of the group. It’s possible he left shortly after we saw him there. We shall see.
The new trailer has the same scene with different dialogue though so I think it’s safe to say the original one was to throw us off.
I could've sworn I saw that toomes was listed at one point but it looks like he's not going to be in it after all, even though they recast him initially? Hmm.
Recast like they initially brought Keaton back not like replaced the actor playing him with someone else
The twist can't be that Mysterio is a villain, right? Anyone who's been paying any amount of attention would be able to figure that out
My guess is that the twist has to do with the Earth-616 comment, but I could be wrong. /Film just released a bunch of articles from their set visit too. So here are a bunch more links. I haven't read them yet so I can't speak to what all is in the articles. ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’: Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan Has a New Love Interest [Set Visit Interview] ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’s Jacob Batalon Was “Hysterically Laughing” When Peter Parker Got Dusted [Interview] Tom Holland Tells ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Audiences to Brace For Impact [Set Visit Interview] ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Director Jon Watts Wants to Avoid “Second Movie Bloat” [Interview] ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’: It Sounds Like J. Just imagine, if Mysterio's misdirection in this movie was so strong that even Tom has no idea what he's talking about. Can't give spoilers if you don't know which scenes you filmed are actually in the movie. Nothing we've seen so far in trailers is actually in the movie. The cake is a lie.
