I don't want to see Uncle Ben, I would just like him to be acknowledged and exist haha.

Yeah i guess that's fair. I just really don't want him to be a crux of the story moving forward. Just don't for some reason. Having a picture of him may and a man who is clearly ben like...on his desk or something would be kinda a nice nod.

Well you never know with this whole multi-verse theory now. If Mysterio isn't lying then its a whole load of possibilities! I'm looking forward to it though. I'm glad Tom Holland has gotten 5 Spider-Man movies under his belt already.

I want to see Uncle Ben because I want to see "Hot" Uncle Ben.

Yes, which I hate because it gets so close to actually addressing the burden of Ben, but then Peter puts the burden on May. It's this unspoken tragedy that she experienced. Would've taken no effort to actually mention Ben by name in that scene & not communicate it as something only May is feeling. And then call back briefly when Peter goes to May after Tony takes the suit.

I mean, you literally don't have Spider-Man without Uncle Ben. Great power, great responsibility. You can have costumes, powers, proper nouns... But, the actual character of Peter Parker is a fundamentally different character without that struggle with guilt. It's in the Raimi films, the Webb films, AND the perfect comic book film that is Into the Spider-Verse for a reason. And, in decades' worth of comics.

We don't need to tell the full origin itself again, showing Ben dying after showing him saying some version of that classic mantra. But, leaving that element out altogether (especially in films that play up the Iron Man connections) results in films that tell as much of a Spider-Man story as a Funko POP does.

Eh, I feel like we already got the MCU version of the classic “with great power...” line.

In Civil War, Peter tells Tony something like, “if you have the power to stop something , and you don’t, it’s on you”. While it doesn’t tell us specifically he may have learned that from not acting on something which caused the death of Ben, that’s how I took it immediately upon hearing it. That line is the foundation of who the MCU Peter Parker is.

I agree it would be good to at least make him or acknowledge specifically in some way, I also wouldn’t be too bothered if they never do.

I think Stark is definitely taking the Uncle Ben spot in terms of impact

Yeah, MCU should be Earth-19999, so guessing Mysterio is full of shit. Guess they're going for some Spider-Men misdirection

How funny would it be if this is legit, Peter goes to Earth-833, and Spider-UK is literally just Tom with his regular accent, tho
