Rewatched No Way Home last night, and its biggest problems are definitely writing/storytelling & shitty green screen visuals where unnecessary.

Hopefully some planning was done so there’s moment of a person standing in a street or laying on a building that needlessly look like dog shit. And, there’s a stronger script that isn’t just a series of haphazard scenes (some clearly not worked out before they started shooting) that amount to nothing.

I tend to give NWH a pass on its overuse of green screen. They started to film it in the fall of 2020 and the movie takes place in New York. They had to resort to filming almost entirely in sound studios due to covid restrictions. The story is still messy and is filled with plot holes, but it allowed us to get a live action spiderverse so it is what it is.

Like Electro not knowing Peter Parker was under the mask, yet the spell was only supposed to bring villains that knew Spiderman was Peter Parker

I don't remember that but yeah that definitely sounds like a plot hole

It does but it's kind of an easily explained plot hole as this Reddit thread proves:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Spiderman/comments/wc4uog/how_does_electro_know_that_spiderman_is_peter/

I'm not sure it's the kind of thing that has to be shown or talked about to be accepted as having happened.

Yeah at the end when Andrew takes off his mask Electro tells him he was hoping he was black. If he knew he was Peter then he’d know he was white. It’s not a huge plot hole that ruins the movie or anything though

Asking because I legitimately never saw Amazing 2: did he know who Peter Parker was? Because I can see an "exact words" situation where he knows Spider-Man is Peter Parker but doesn't know who Peter Parker is.

In ASM2 he never knows who Peter Parker is. He could have heard the name, but he wouldn’t be able to put a face to the name even if he heard the name.

That's what I mean though. If it's possible for him to have heard the name, then literally knowing Spider-Man is a guy named Peter Parker could be all it would take.

@Penlab you should totally check out TASM2! The story isn't the greatest but there are still lots of really cool moments in it, not to mention great acting and action

I will say ASM2 is over hated. I prefer it to ASM1 and arguably I think it’s the best looking SM film. The story, especially the handling of the villains, just doesn’t go well.
