Today’s my day off, and my bestie I normally see on Wednesdays has family stuff today. I did manage to get some laundry done while posting too much, though!

He also looks very old. What age is he supposed to be in the MCU?

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate that even for but a moment, we actually get a live-action comic accurate version of Boomerang?

Trailer was the hype. Very happy we got DDC directing to give us a fresh spin for the character.

They said 4 years after No Way Home. Assuming he was 17 or 18 when graduating high school, he’s 21 or 22

I don’t know if they are counting the 5 years during the blip towards their actual ages or not. If so, he was 23 or so in NWH.

My hope for the New York/Street level stuff is that it ultimately leads to Spider-Man encountering Kingpin

I don't think i've fully liked a live action Spider-Man movie since the second Raimi. This is looking closer to what I'd want out of Spidey so I'm cautiously optimistic this could be the best of the Holland movies (which, i'm in the minority on for not liking)

I’m with you. Couldn’t really get into any of the last trilogy outside of the second half of NWH. Agree this this looks way more in the lane I like Spidey in

I think the last trilogy went that route because Marvel had just gotten Spider-Man into the MCU and wanted to fully integrate him into that world. Now that that’s out of the way, he can finally stand on his own.

If BND is great, the Home trilogy will probably be seen in a better light, knowing that it’s essentially one big origin story.

    Nah.

If this rules, it’ll just make me hate those movies even more.

Justin, you and I both know these were perfectly cromulent Spider-Man films, and we'll just have to be content with that.

Homecoming maybe I’d like more upon rewatch, not based on it being seen as a prequel to this (if it’s good) or whatever, but because being out of Iron Man’s shadow makes it annoy me less. Kinda like how I can appreciate Batman v Superman more now that it no longer defines what other movies have to do.

Far From Home I will always hate. And No Way Home will always be a very stupid, ugly movie I only have fun with on a dumb fan service level (and I like that the goal is kinda rehabilitation for a stretch of it).
