Finally got around to watching this. So good, thanks for the rec. Just the right balance of wholesome and deranged!
I saw what might be the best film of the year yesterday, so of course today I would see what is arguably the worst. Larrain must have a monkey's paw or something.
Really enjoyed most of this. Some minor things kept me from loving it, mostly in the last five minutes, but overall very good. I also got Shining vibes at times.
I liked this thing a lot. Kristen Stewart’s performance was so enthralling, and the general vibe of the film was great. The rich person ennui in this is theoretically the opposite of what I’d wanna see right now, but in a way it was actually perfect for where I’m at?
Well scored and beautifully shot but the movie has the subtlety of a sledgehammer. How many heavy-handed metaphors (insect under microscope! Horse! Bird!) can we have for Diana’s situation before realizing this could have been 20 minutes shorter? Agreed with whoever said on the first page that Stewart’s performance was just okay. Big meh.
i was worried this was going to just feel like an episode of The Crown and was pleasantly surprised that it didn't. It did feel very much like Jackie, which i'm sure was intentional on Pablo's part. Wouldn't be surprised if this is the 2nd in a trilogy of sorts.
Watched his movie No on a plane, that's also kinda about Pinochet and was pretty good That sounds pretty out there though lmaoo
