I don't know if I think Pharmacie is all that similar to this album. Similar lyrical themes for sure, but it's a lot moodier and more experimental. However, it is fantastic and super underrated.

 

Yeah I just listened to it for the first time and it doesn't sound anything like SLS lol. It's good though.

 

The similarly to me is definitely lyrical, but I just love that album so much I'll say it's exactly like SLS if that gets people to listen to it

 

I don’t think it’s exactly the same but I think the lyrics are similar and I think they draw from similar influences even if SLS is a lot more pop punk

 

I might be in the minority but I prefer London much more than Pharmacie. Can see how that lyrical/musical style is somewhat similar to SLS.

 

Love both albums but Pharmacie wins for me. Which is saying something as I had a really personal attachment to London, since it came out the same year as I left London for uni and listened to it a lot when I felt homesick

 

Yeah, London is great, too. Also be sure to check out Dan from A,IHN's new-ish band Myelin if you haven't heard them. More similar to Pharmacie than London, even though he left Apologies before Pharmacie.

 

Booked tickets and flights to see them in Cologne last night. Will be exactly a year since I first saw them, and will be my 7th time seeing them.

I am just now checking these folks out, and man, Schmaltz is a fantastic fucking record. Consider me very much on board with this band

 

Listening to this for the first time. Maybe a weird comparison, but this feels like how it felt for me to discover Say Anything's ...is a Real Boy. This is seriously great.

I feel like another North American repress of this is overdue considering the fifth press of Brave Faces is sold out.

it might be because i discovered them in the spring on a nice sunny/breezy day like this, but album always hits me right in the spring vibes. will put it on today.
