Only two songs in, but sounds like a Menzingers cover band.

The Menzingers comparisons are way overblown, this genre has always had a lot of similarities between peers. the guitar tones are way different, there is one singer and he doesn't even sound a lot like Greg. are they like the Menzingers because they write punk songs?

I'll be fighting beside you. Easily one of the best records I've heard this year. So glad you're digging it! Maybe they'll play around here and we can go together!

Listening to this next, after finishing up the Bobby Barnett album. It better be as good as you say @Larry David.

IDK man, they sound a hell of a lot like Menzingers to me. I guess my ears are inferior.

didn’t say your ears are inferior, but you haven’t provided a parallel and “cover band” is a pretty severe take to not back up lol. what Menzingers song sounds exactly like one of these songs?

Well obviously they are inferior. Look at the ears you're up against:

I mean, they definitely sound a lot like the Menzingers (maybe mixed with a bit of The Smith Street Band?), but I don't think that's a bad thing. Just over halfway through this but really digging it. The synth on El Nino is a nice touch.

i think they’re more straight-forward than the Menz have ever been, Menz are far more dynamic with song structure and have been since OTIP. this straight-forwardness is just really really good though. a lot of people are gonna say it blends together and those people have a point but i love it

This record really hits its stride at "Otis/Carl" and doesn't let up from there

Yeah, vocally definitely reminds me of the Menzingers, but not so much instrumentally.

I think @bree1981 would love this.

Yass @KidLightning, have absolutely been loving this, got the vinyl pre-ordered a while ago so really hoping it turns up today. I'd agree, this definitely gives of a bit of a Menzingers vibe (which is no bad thing) but I'd compare it more with Chamberlain Waits era Menzos, where their still a bit rougher around the edges. Stand out song so far would be Buffalo, Buffalo, Bellyache and Aloha To No One.
So far 2018 has seen some great records released with the likes of Camp Cope, Turnspit, Press Club and Paper Rifles all releasing bangers but this is right up there.
