Just didn’t click for me. Felt like they were going more for TWY-style emo pop-punk over the more Against Me!/Menzingers kind of sound they had on the early stuff. I’ve tried a bunch of times over the years to get into it and I just don’t like that sound for them.
Missed on on the yellow variant but got the white & black, which I like nearly as much. Grabbed the ghost shirt, too. I also hope it fits better. Of all the merch I regularly buy, I think SLS stuff fits the worst.
I picked up the BrooklynVegan variant. Didn't check any of the others. https://shop.brooklynvegan.com/prod...-300-made-green-w-white-yellow-splatter-vinyl
I really like the indie variant too and will probably pick that up at Bull Moose at release because I'm a sucker.
Anyone have a link for the indie variant? I'm hoping my store has it available, but want to be prepared haha
I don't know how far I'd travel for a Spanish Love Songs/Elder Brother concert, but the radius is wider than it'd be for most shows.
I don't think Elder Brother has ever played within 3 hours of me but I did pick up their first album and have it signed by Dan at a The Wonder Years/TSSF tour in late 2014 (with Gnarwolves and MoBo I think?)
I'm digging this song. I like the juxtaposition of more uplifting instrumentals with their typically morose lyrics.
Probably blasphemous, but this band has always been a little too similar to Menz for me, but the synth and mellowed sound really differentiates it for me this go 'round. Maybe I'll give the previous album a try again.
Them calling the album No Joy is so perfect. My wife who isn’t even a huge fan is ordering the crewneck BECAUSE it says “No Joy” on it.
