SLS has become one of my absolute favorites, but I'm skipping this tour because it's another co-headliner with a band I don't care about. 3 hours is a bit too long to travel for 14 songs. It's still such a bummer there hasn't been a full, proper headliner for the last two records stateside.
I don't think this band would play much more than 14 songs on a "true headliner" either lol seems pretty standard to me When they headlined Cleveland last time they did 15 songs with a one song encore that was just Dylan solo
Nothing drives me crazier than when a band plays a cover as part of a shorter set like this. I came to see your songs, not your take on The Killers songs. All that said, wish this was coming closer to me. Love this band, glad they're still making music, and feel bad saying it but this setlist probably wouldn't be worth driving for anyway.
I was kind of thinking the same thing, like what would be the ideal number here? 16 tops? I absolutely loved 'No Joy' so this set is fully ideal for me, though, and I love Oso Oso so I'm just excited for Chicago.
Why didn't you just say 16 songs? LOL I was at that show, and it was awesome, and they played five songs off Schmaltz (chef's kiss). But it was also 3 months before No Joy was released, so you'd figure with a new album out now, they'd be playing somewhere in between 16-18 songs, at minimum. I have a ticket for the 21, but I may not go depending on when the Cavs playoff game will be that weekend.
Spanish Love Songs has times on their Instragram (love when bands do this): Doors - 6 Sydney Sprague - 7 Worry Club - 7:45 Oso Oso - 8:35 SLS - 9:55
Because 16 was probably forced out of em! Damn I didn’t consider that there might be a game that day that’s a bummer
I'd actually drive anywhere in my country to see them for whatever setlist they'd choose, love their whole run going from Schmaltz to No Joy
schmaltz is not nearly as good as the other two albums and if i were them id only play one song from it too
No Joy is their latest album that they’re touring, of course they’re going to play a lot of tracks from it. Brave Faces is their most popular album, which also didn’t get a big headlining tour so it makes sense they lean on this too. I’d at most expect 2 songs from Schmaltz. Hell when I saw them in Australia just before No Joy came out they played more from the unreleased No Joy than Schmaltz. This band releases great music and has done since the start, we should be going to support them so they don’t pack it in.
Yeah, we flew to Detroit to see them during that small series before No Joy came out and it's one of the best shows I've ever been to.
I went last night and it was awesome. House of Blues was probably about 50% capacity. Of course would have wanted fuller, but man, what an awesome crowd and super intimate show. Yes, they played 14 songs and all 14 were great. Seeing their take on Smile like you mean it? Also great. After the two Schmaltz songs he said: Quit yelling at me on the internet to play old songs. It isn't helpful. as WeWereGiants said: This band releases great music and has done since the start, we should be going to support them so they don’t pack it in.
I saw them a few nights ago in Phoenix and they ruled. It was a great night because Anthony Green played the basement of the same venue that night so saw two amazing shows in one.
Are they really going on at 9:55 every night? That's going to be real tough for me to do on a Sunday...
