Decided to skip the Hot Mulligan show tonight so I’m hoping the headliner comes to the NW. They haven’t headlined here since 2018 so we are long overdue.
I would've said Arms Length a month ago, but they are headlining the Wax Bodega tour Joyce Manor comes to mind
Not a chance Joyce Manor would be support, it would be the other way around. I’m hoping for like awakebutstillinbed or something in that vein
Yeah, and a lot of bands that might have opened for them on the Brave Faces tours that never happened have eclipsed them. Anxious is one that comes to mind.
I guess SLS still does have more Spotify monthly listeners, for what that's worth. I don't know how Anxious headlining tours do (not sure they've ever headlined in Chicago from what I can see on setlist.fm), but they way the crowd went off for them on the TWY tour last year certainly made them seem bigger than SLS.
SLS missed an opportunity to support The Menzingers on tour. I doubt they had an offer to do so, but that crowd would be into their music. Touring with Hot Mulligan and Heart Attack Man just isn't going to put them in a good spot with those kind of crowds.
It does feel like the HM/HAM tour would have made more sense in the Brave Faces era, but you don't turn down something like that even if it's a weird fit now. I wouldn't be surprised to see them bring out more singer-songwriter or pop openers for this one.
I've got a work trip I'm going to be across the country for in mid April. So far no conflicts but SO many shows are right up against the trip. Scared I won't be around for this tour.
