sucks we can’t get away from this crap. It dominates headlines for my favorite sport too and always leaves a nasty taste in my mouth (lately with Watson getting off on all 9 harassment charges). Wish we could just enjoy things without abusers involved

 

Welp, that's super shitty and a total bummer. I've never even heard of that band but bummer SLS are touring with them.

Listening to all the preview songs for Brave Faces Etc they posted on bandcamp. These kind of releases really bridge between albums is pretty cool, and it shows off another side of the band and just how enjoyable they are. It's crazy because some of these songs sounds less "emotionally heavy" than the album versions. Like there heavy lyrics are there, but there is more optimism in the Etc versions. Can't wait until their next album, I'm assuming in 2023.

I've done an absolutely remarkable job at avoiding overplaying the pre-release tracks. Can't wait to play through the whole thing.

I appreciate this for what it is, but it's probably not going to be more than a couple plays for me. It makes for good background music, but it's not the sound I fell I love with with Schmaltz and Brave Faces OG.

 

It’s something between albums. I do prefer new songs to alt versions, but this is a big record in this bands short history so I’m cool with this.

 

I love that these songs are getting to have a life/moment that was robbed from them due to COVID shutting all of touring down. I really love both versions of the album, honestly.

Great point.

 

Glad the Etc versions exist and happily supporting anything this band puts out, but I wish there was a greater variety between the songs. They all sound very similar to each other. That said, I am enjoying the album, just don't know if I'll ever prefer these versions over the originals.

 

Underrated post

 

I love how well this version flows together. Most of these versions didn't click with me when hearing them alone but within the context it all sounds very nice. Especially love the end of Brave Faces

 

I obviously don’t want to say I prefer these versions or anything, but these versions are a refreshing sound for them. I sorta like the more mellow sound and hope they explore it a little more in the future.

 

I’m definitely down for more mellow stuff, but I’d prefer it in the vein of Nuevo or Aloha to No One than any of these versions. These versions are fine but nothing I’d probably return to all that often.
