I'm honestly kind of glad they aren't touring this year. There are so many artists/bands touring this fall that I want to see and I'm happy to see them next year when touring won't be as crowded and there's less of a chance they conflict with some other show I also really want to see. I know I said above I wanted to see them this year but that was before a bunch more shows got announced that I also want to see.
I agree with that wholeheartedly, I can only afford (in time and money) so many shows. I'm glad bands that can are holding off.
Probably should have held off listening until tomorrow now I'm sad. Good song though. Tomorrow I gotta figure out which song it is that 10 years in these bodies references.
So is this a new song, or just a b-side? The fact they said should we release a song no one has heard makes me think it's just a b-side.
Definitely a B-side. I can't remember if they said it was recorded along with the rest of Brave Faces or later, but Dylan has played it acoustic on the Patreon streams a couple times.
This pulls in a few different references and develops some lyrical themes from the album, I can see why it didn't make the cut (the title track basically does the same thing in an amazing way already) but it's pretty good. Those last few lines... fuck.
No physical release for now, but there are a few new shirts up on their store that come with a download of the songs. Spanish Love Songs
That song is an excellent SLS/BFE synopsis. I actually love the chorus but it’s absolutely gutting to hear that line from Routine Pain drawn out. If only they didn’t make misery sound so fucking beautiful!
not a fan of phantom limb. strong b-side vibes, possible even initial demo before it evolved into Routine Pain.
Yeah, you can hear the various bits of this song that they cannibalised for the rest of the album. There's a bit of the title track in there, obviously Routine Pain, the second verse I think became Dolores. Not that that's a bad thing, something you don't hear often in the creative process really
good for them. still would rather see a headliner personally, but they deserve to share the stage with bands like rise against and the descendents.
Idk if anyone’s ever been curious about this, but home prices in Buffalo and north of it are stupidly cheap. Maybe SLS are onto something…
