Rebecca Ford, writing for The Hollywood Reporter, is reporting that a Space Jam sequel starring LeBron James has been green lit by Warner Brothers.

Justin Lin and Andrew Dodge are ready to shoot some intergalactic hoops with LeBron James. The Fast & Furious 6 and Star Trek Beyond helmer is in talks to direct Warner Bros.’ sequel Space Jam 2 while Dodge will write.

I still think we are a ways away from this. Seeing as its been rumored for about 10+ years and it still hasn't even been written and LeBron is still mostly focused on basketball 10 months out of the year, I don't see this happening until closer to his retirement.

I hope this news makes stupid people mad. It was pretty fun watching people get upset over the Jumanji reboot announcement

I'm in if Dirk plays the Larry Bird role and Bill Murray shows up again because that's what Bill Murray does.

Per Brian Windhorst on Twitter: "Despite a report LeBron will star in Space Jam 2, no deal is in place sources say. Maybe at some point but not as of yet."

I swear this has been rumored since he basically came into the league, but hey, if it's finally really actually happening, cool.

It's funny for this to happen with Lebron now because Steph has kind of taken over as the face of the league now. Not that Lebron isn't still uber famous of course.

Haha you're right, I wouldn't. But Lebron.. I'd rather it star Kobe. If it was necessary to make another. Which imo isn't.

Well of course it's unnecessary. It could be good though, and even if it isn't it won't make the original worse. I'm on board

(Lebron is also like a 100x better choice than Kobe)

I'm not a Steph fan but I think kids love him way more than LeBron these days. I also would want Kobe because bias.

Ya know maybe it'll be decent? I thought LeBron was one of the only good parts about Trainwreck along with Bill Hader
