I'm actually really loving the ongoing story this season, this is easily the best they've done it out of the few years they've been doing it so far
Holy shit, I completely lost it @ Ike and Kyle witness their mom pee on their dad . I dont' think SP has had a moment that absurd in a long time.
I took it as the opposite. Butters is the new feminist activist getting naked to try to prove a point = going topless for feminism. It doesn't spread the message and you just look dumb doing it.
The latest episode was promising, a lot more clever with more well-aimed satire than anything this season has offered so far. I think a season-long arc dilutes some of the potency of what they do well, though. As far as modern updates of Lysistrata, though, Chi-raq did it a lot better.
They are taking Cartman down a way different path than I ever would have thought. I wonder if something will happen to snap him back to his old ways?
I think the joke might end up being that Cartman has actually been up to his old ways the entire time and is either simply waiting to unleash in the end, or is waiting for what he perceives as vindication thereby warranting his ability to gloat that he was right all along and proved whatever point it is he's underhandedly trying to prove.
love the arc, didnt feel the latest episode. it felt like a filler...which is a weird word to say for south park haha but hey when you're trying to do season long arcs that's an unfortunate side effect. i like the troll stuff, but i think the "other troll" character is kinda weak. I loved it until this week.
eh. more of a shock value joke then anything. Gerald going so far to hide his identity was definitely funny though
His name is "Dildo Shwaggins." He has an e-cigarette and white man dreads. These are not signs of a weak character (lol).
Eh yeah none of these things really make me laugh. This is weird because I'm usually the guy defending this show on a weekly basis
Member berries is one of the best things they came up with in a long time. There is so much thought behind the idea, and it's so incredibly relevant.
I was just making a joke, hence the "lol," but sure let's nitpick. Even still, the fact that he has all those things absolutely informs what kind of a character/person he is. So, whether you want to call it texture or not, it's still non-verbal, "show don't tell" characterization. As long as we're being unnecessarily pedantic.
That's true, but thus far there's nothing beyond those signifiers so saying he's a "great" character is more than a bit of a stretch. But you're right, it was a joke, not a big deal
"Member Chewbacca?" "Oh of course I member Chewbacca!" "Member the Dagobah system?" "Member the Goonies?" "Member Chunk?" "Member when there weren't so many Mexicans around?"
