EDIT: found it and watched it. it was pretty much exactly what i expected, good and bad.

 

Yeah it was fine, nothing special. Some laughs

Apparently this isn't the start of a season and is actually just a one-off though...

finally got around to watching Pandemic Special.

you know, i have to be fair. I usually like EVERYTHING south park does. I "stan" for pretty much any of it. I've loved all of the recent seasons, loved the whole tegridy farms/4th wall jokes (i'm a sucker for those).... but i think Pandemic Special was just "okay". they tried to squeeze in SO much that it seemed a bit messy. I liked all of the individual jokes a lot.... Cartman being psyched to stay home (obvious but great), Randy fucking the animals to start covid (great), Cops as teachers (eh its okay), Stan not being able to take it (this one was weird), and the mask jokes were all great

It just felt messy. For the first time, the abundance of material from 2020 was TOO much for even south park.

I would have loved to see an entire season of covid related material, then it all crammed into one episode.

A very rare "eh" grade from me.

Even Cartman's song wasn't one of the best...and south park RULES at fcking hilarious songs

But when does the show proper come back?

Yeah the pandemic special was better I think. This felt like they tried to fit everything in but didn't do a good enough job on any of it to bring it all together. The Q stuff could have went so many directions and I thought the direction they took it was okay at best
