haha that's why when Kyle asks "where'd you learn to like this" and ike says "from daddy".... a little added joke right there
im starting to fear that, ugh, is there a possibilty that this season is going to end with the show revealing that they were trolling us in some capacity? There's no ending or something of that nature
I think its a new thing, right? I don't think it's hasn't always been her. Either way, it's a good easy way to find a child voice whose parents don't mind the cussing
I honestly have no idea what the end game is. Kind of exciting, but also makes me nervous that it won't pay off lol. This is the first episode to not have member berries right?
Ending was good. They kind of dropped the Member Berries storyline but I'm alright with that, I was never a big fan of them and I didn't expect them to be able to wrap up absolutely everything this season, they introduced too many plotlines. I've really liked these serialized seasons but I'm looking forward to a more traditional season next year if this episode's title is to be believed.
I absolutely loved this episode. I thought the pay off was amazing and every scene was full of laughs. They continue to turn Garrison more into Trump and it's hilarious. "Hey, that's how I got elected!" was maybe the line of the ep. About the member berries, I think that last shot of them in office with Trump is setting it up for next season or maybe that was the punchline of the joke.
So are they not doing split seasons anymore? Are we getting nine months off? That joke at the very end and the guy getting pushed off the bridge were the only things I found particularly funny in this one.
I hope we continue to get more Ike. Him trolling and saying the worst of things and then screaming like a baby when his mom came in had me rolling.
Season was decent to good overall but trailed off toward the end. Abandoning the Memberberries for the finale was weak. I really think they were totally winging it week to week with very little forethought on the season as a whole lol.
I feel like they HAD an idea for the season, but it got derailed hard after Trump won. A lot of the plotlines they had setup (the Memberberries, Troll Trace, Butter's entire arc etc.) seemed to depend on Clinton taking the presidency to have a good payoff and, when that didn't happen, they had to wing it. It went over better than I expected, to be honest, but it still wasn't great.
It has to be pretty difficult to make a serialized television show when you also rely on current events to fuel parts of the plot. Overall I thought this was a pretty solid season. Garrison turned into a pretty good impression of Trump at the end (him going around south park to get revenge on everyone who "bullied" him in someway and being manipulated into bombing/not bombing Denmark where very VERY spot on with Trump's personality. Which is fucking terrifying). I'm disappointed they just kind of dropped the member berries though. I kind of liked that little subplot haha.
south park has NEVER been good at endings. From imaginationland to black friday to this, the one thing i've learned from south park is that you should never expect a big pay off for the ending. dropping member berries for the final 2 episodes was a huge let down and i honestly thought we'd get a better overall payoff then even this. It was such a...whatever ending. Not even like any big lesson or what have you. I was pretty into the season, i think it's pretty damn memorable for a bunch of reasons, but the last 2 episodes really disappointed me. like many have stated, the balls to do something like this is amazing! one central storyline, while weaving in weekly current events, with a HUGE twist of Trump actually winning, which 100% shifted everything, is so fucking hard.
Donald Trump too hard to satirise, say South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone - Donald Trump's America - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
Anyone listen to the Bill Simmons podcast with Matt and Trey? Pretty good listen if you're a fan of show.
