Not the first time Pixar's done two in a year. 2015 had Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur, 2017 had Cars 3 and Coco, and 2022 is supposed to have two that year. Unmentioned asterisk of course is the possibility of Soul getting pushed back, ditto whatever movies were under production prior to this pandemic.
it also probably would've been an incredible film to see on the big screen, but i guess that was out of the question...
i'm assuming this was decided following the regal theaters closing whatever, hope there's no additional charge beyond the usual monthly d+ payments
