This is debuting in Chicago on Monday with a post-screening Q&A with the director. Going to try and go if I can make it work timing wise with work!
Just saw this. Pretty incredible movie, I really enjoyed it. Also the best comedy of the year? I think so. The crowd I saw it with was laughing so much throughout.
Hopefully this will get some theatrical release in the UK so I could see it in the cinema *fingers crossed*
Also really really liked this. Very well balanced tonally, many ups and downs with a lot of depth while not really feeling too choppy or like a rollercoaster. So much natural humor, love a script that rarely feels like it’s trying to tell jokes but keeps me laughing anyway. Things like “I’m stuck in a lie!” were getting me really good. Also loved “she said yum” and the begrudging “This feels really good. Okay I love you” or whatever the line was. Sandwich shop owner reacting to Agnes saying her name was great too I was a little iffy on the whole use of “thing” or “bad thing” a placeholders for… other words at first, but as the film progressed it felt like it made more sense for the character and not just a cutesy little way to get around using the real words like how it felt at first Naomi Ackie is so great man
This was really good and excited to see what Eva does next as an actor and filmmaker because that was an impressive directorial debut
