My question is are we short handing this as YNA_AYT or YNAAYT? Need to stay on top of this sort of thing
That's why Sorority Noise is the scene's current MCS. Serious lyrics with tongue in check humor to go along with it. Currently on my second play through of the album. My high expectations have been met, and have exceeded them. There has been multiple times I've been close to a puddle of tears. Cam's vocal delivery makes it oh so devastating.
Modern Baseball filled that spot for me, but with them (hopefully temporarily?) out of the picture, yea I'd have to agree Sorority Noise captures the spirit of MCS better than most bands.
My preorder came in the mail today. The orange/blue splatter looks really really good, and the album is great so far.
Hey do you guys want a full stream of this because their UK label uploaded one tonight and you basically have no excuse OK here you go (run on sentences because I am slightly drunk and also still can't deal with this fucking record)
the ending of a portrait of every hair on my body stood up that is what desperate insanity sounds like
I also caught a Julien Baker reference too! This is really good. It'll most likely end up on my Top 10 this year.
I enjoyed their last record but I never really ended up going back to it outside of a few songs. Maybe because the subject matter is really dark and I have to be in a certain mood to listen to it? Who knows... That said, I really dig this after a first listen. Even darker than the last one, but they really stepped their game up from a songwriting standpoint. The production is top notch too (s/o Mike Sapone). Instantly near the top of the year so far.
There are a lot of good things happening on this album, and though I need more time with it to form an intelligent opinion, I had a very enjoyable first listen. I couldn't always make out all of the lyrics but every now and then a line would sneak up on me and knock me on my ass.
yeah this is actually pretty good, not sure about the spoken word part though, kinda takes me back to mid 00s mall emo
this album really wants to be deja also there are a bunch of aspects of this that just remind me why that random old gray record had to be under the old gray name lol
I'm trying to make it through this for the first time rn but I am finding the vocal delivery to be distracting and just all-around unpleasant to my ears. :\ I don't honestly hear the Deja comparison at all so far.
it's like they're trying to make an album thats 3/4 deja and 1/4 D&G this is just not the sound of a record i am really interested in in the year 2017
I don't think this album tries at all to sound like Deja Liking it a good bit on first listen, still not a fan of A Better Sun. Early favorites are Second Letter & Leave the Fan On
I head TDAG more than I hear Deja, but even then it doesn't feel like they're trying to emulate that record rather than it just being an influence (like it is to most bands doing this kind of music nowadays). Idk maybe the vocals are just distracting me from really noticing the sonic similarities lol. Leave The Fan On is the first song on this album I can say works for me.
