Just heard the song from the TWIABP split for the first time, very very good. I think I need to go back and explore the band's back catalog. I remember thinking Joy, Departed was cool when it came out but I haven't heard it in full since then.
the dashboard covers of using and sprained ankle are both not as good as the originals. he's not really as good as communicating emotions through his voice as they are imo
I liked Joy, Departed but it fell off for me, but this new track is really good. Easily the best song I've ever heard from them.
I've listened to this band on and off in the past but nothing they've done has really connected with me like this song immediately did. Incredibly excited to hear the rest of the record now.
Wow, all those dashboard covers...were so random to hear! :) Dashboard's always been hit or miss for me, but most of those covers are pretty well done(none of them surpass the originals ofcourse).
I'm always surprised how much this band sticks with me even as I move further away from their scene. The new song is one of their best yet, especially musically. How was that EP they dropped last year?
I love that EP from last year but it's a dark horse in their catalogue. Feels more like a thematic lead up to the new record rather than an indication of a musical direction they want to take.
Was just listening to No Halo and it finally hit me how strong the Brand New vibes are with the backing screams.
I hate how much I can relate to this song. It expresses my experiences with depression so well that when I was sent the album last week and heard this, I was reduced to a sobbing wreck. Fuck.
Starting to think the hype for this record has messed with my expectations. Not super impressed by this track at all.
