I enjoy Jim Carrey and I'm pretty sure he will be the only good thing about this film.

 

Genuine question, for a movie like this, is Ben Schwartz a big enough name that would pull people into see it who wouldn’t have otherwise? Not that I think he’ll be bad but why not just use the actual voice of Sonic that SEGA has used for however long?

It’s not like Rocket Raccoon situation where they get a bigger name like Bradley Cooper.

 

I mean, this is going to fail either way.

they really should've focused on the fact the movie looks shittier than Sonic does. the Domino's approach of "we sucked before but suck less now" isn't gonna work as well for a movie imo

 

I always forget it's Bradley Cooper and to be honest I don't think that really matters. The fact that it's just not a dumb voice is all that matters to me. Big names for CGI characters like that don't draw me in. It's the character/brand that does it for me. The fact that it's a character I recognize being represented means way more to me than who is playing the character.

 

Idk Mark Hamill is cool but do I like him as Chucky? Not sure

 

I would trust Mark with anything involving voice work, I just want Chucky to always be Brad Dourif and no one else.

 

So that brings me back to my point why not just use the actual voice of sonic lol

Movie studios wanting celebrity names instead of established voice actors has been a big source of conflict for a long time.

 

I think Trolls is in April. Looks like it's biggest competition is the Kingsman prequel which is funny because that also previously had that November date

 

Jaleel White is the only true voice of Sonic in my book.

 

someone re-did the trailer as a more "accurate" sonic and it looks weirder than before tbh
