I think the production is perfect, vocals are highly improved, instrumentation is flawless..particularly after going back and listening to their old stuff (which I loved). Still think Iron Heel and My Way To You are up there with the best songs i've heard this year or even in recent memory

 

I think the drums and vocals sound terrific

this albums so great, the melodies are constantly getting caught up in my head.

 

I love how the synth creeps in and out during granite face. Always gotta bop my head when it gets louder between vocals.

 

synthwork on this entire thing is just sublime. i'm so impressed with how they took the cohesiveness and sequencing of first day back and applied it here. add it to the fact that these are the best songs they've written in their careers, and this is an AOTY contender

i'm going to be hyping the crap out of this come October once the marketing cycle begins

Surprising single choice, tbh. Farewell To Exile is, like, right there.

 

Or New Blood, or Absent and Lost, or The Granite Face

all would be good choices. Mediterranean is huge and could connect well

 

Granted, the music video for Farewell to Exile should be sick if they do one

 

Yeah hey don't get me wrong I love all of the songs on this record, Mediterranean included, I just think it's not the most obvious choice for a single. Farewell to Exile for me perfectly encapsulates the vibe and sound of the record and is also maybe the catchiest song as well.

But yeah it's not really like they could go wrong here.

Unfortunate circumstances of course brought me to check out this band.

This album is incredible and I’m glad Phil was able to leave his mark on the world alongside his bandmates.
