This record is surprisingly good. didn't like the last very much, this is far more interesting. seeing them tonight with petal, should be a good time
You're in for a treat. I saw them in Boston with Transit a couple months back and they killed it.
Let me know how the show goes
yes @cwhit this record is waayyyy more interesting than TOP, which I liked but found fairly generic. this really pushes them forward which I love
bummer it's getting a mixed reception
really good show. petal was obviously awesome and somos was great. five or six from the new one, four (and mostly the ones i enjoy) from the old one. their drummer is really really good
i think all the electronic stuff is great on this, the songs are interesting and i listened to it quite a few times today even though this isn't the sound i like very much. one of the members made a joke before the show when a friend was talking to him about how nobody likes the new one
the themes and lyrics on this album are way more interesting than TOP, even though musically their debut hooks me more.
Finally now checking this album out. I could never really get into them before, but I am really liking this album
hope they get on another tour in the west coast, i'd love to hear these songs live
Haven't given this a proper spin since it was released, loved TOP, so I really need to listen to this more.
I wish they had maintained some of that pop punk edge from Temple, but this is a promising new direction... they have to keep polishing this but I dig
TOP grew on me a lot but i still like this much better. really wish they'd do a longer album though, neither of them feel like full-lengths
"streets upon streets" is one of my favorite songs ever in this genre i think
haven't listened to this in a while, as i sort of expected. still a nice listen though, definitely their best work and not awful like so many people think it is
Temple of Plenty is still my favorite. Honestly, I couldn't even get through First Day Back. I just couldn't get into it at all. I haven't gone back to it because I'm bummed that I was so disappointed in it. Maybe I need to try again, but I think I need to be in a certain mood to listen to it... Blah, I don't even know! I just wish it was more like TOP...
So they split way with the drummer who did this album, super sad. I love all the drumming on this record and he was incredible live.
been revisiting this a lot, it's real good still
"Thorn In The Side" is perpetually stuck in my head
i need to give this another chance... i didn't even get through the whole thing originally. but i also keep forgetting to try diving back into it. gahhhhh!
i'm stoked that their original drummer is back though. the drumming on TOP was incredible.
said this in another thread but i think the new drummer was the guy i met at the show, who said he didn't like the old material, lol
new drummer is the old drummer. Mike Benoit, who recorded drums for Temple of Plenty.
new drummer meaning the dude who's now the old drummer, not the old drummer who is now the new drummer
.....my head hurts
unreleased Somos demo on this compilation. More on the punk side of things
where can I listen to that demo?
