Well.... I.... heard... wrong. #NotARealFan

 

Honestly, I heard the same thing and that's what I assumed during the film. Just knew the names didn't match up when I looked through the visual guide. #StillARealFan

 

This movie was mostly fine outside of a milquetoast Han (I get that maybe was the point of the film, but the parallel of Lando seemed to do that better anyway).

The final act was a mess.

But I loved L3, the droids continue to be my favorite part of the spin-off movies

Solo was the number one movie in the world this week, I think people need to calm down with this flop nonsense

 

Going to be reallllly interesting what they do with Maul in the spin off movies going forward. A lot of people will be asking how he's alive and what not and it's not they can show all that again from the cartoons.

 

A movie can be number 1 and still be a total flop. Not saying this movie is but, yeah.

 

I enjoyed this a lot more than Rogue One. I had no expectations and didn’t know what to expect. The beginning was meh, but it got better.

 

For those that noticed some lighting issues, I did too in the beginning.

great now I'm gonna be overanalyzing the brightness of the movie in subsequent viewings

 

This was meant for the NBA thread but I do appreciate that a few of you liked it.

 

I had to see a 3D showing and I still thought the lighting was fine so I must've got lucky. I thought the film looked gorgeous.

 

I had issues with it being dark too
I liked Glover and Alden
L3-37 was the best
I wish Qi'ra had more to do, she was great as a style icon but like there was obviously a very sad backstory there and I wish movies like this did more for the female characters, like this movie cared more about the subjugation of wookies and robots, L3 and Chewy leading the rebellions were great, then the implied subjugation of women

 

Took some friends to see this tonight who are really just casual fans. Both really liked it. I'm getting the impression from people who I've talked to that casual fans like this more than those of us who are more into Star Wars. That makes me pretty happy.

I also got to enjoy nerding out while explaining how Maul is still alive afterwards.

 

This might not break $30 million this weekend. Could be around a 66% drop off from last weekend. Looks like it has opened in every major market. People are quick to defend it as not under performing, but it may not make back its budget in cinemas.

 

I watched ANH with George’s commentary this morning and he specifically mentions that the falcon’s navigation computer is what makes it the fastest ship in the galaxy, not it’s actual speed :)

 

He has some points... but I did enjoy the movie.

 

Finally watched it again. It's such a fun movie. Alden really does steal the show and Donald is hit-and-miss but he has his moments. L-3 is obnoxious. Chewie is a badass.

 

Wow this is crazy to me that its not higher for RO, TFA, and TLJ

 

what about the droid attacks on the wookies

 

I thought this was a ton of fun.
