I think the first hour or so of Rogue One is the worst Star Wars Disney has put out. This one doesn’t have as good of a third act, but it’s more consistently entertaining with better characters. So I gotta give the edge to Solo.
Wow. Completely forgot MKW was supposed to be in this. I’d love to see what Lord/Miller had in mind for this.
I was wondering why I had trouble enjoying the movie, but couldn't put my finger on it. This article lit a lightbulb in my brain. So then I googled "Solo female characters" The female characters of 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' deserve better Solo's fatal flaw is the fact that it has no idea how to handle its three female leads
Its so strange to me that all of these websites are screaming "STAR WARS FATIGUE!!" when this is a side story most people didn't ask for. Publications are jumping right to fatigue rather than look back at the drama that went into the production. I think most of what has this under-performing is due to a lack of trust in the product.
I’m not sure if a lot of the casual audience would keep up with the troubled production. My guess would be that it’s about Solo, who is a good character but many newer fans who haven’t seen the OT won’t care for a film about him. Also for those who didn’t like TLJ could have chose to pass on another Star Wars film so soon.
It’s weird how some people treat box office numbers like it’s a football game or something. Just odd and leads to those dumb headlines. I think they should have put this out near Christmas, they could have pushed Mary Poppins elsewhere ha. It’s going to feel weird not having a SW movie next holiday season. Memorial Day is just tough with all the competition now. Also, people seem to forget that these movies have only been coming out for less than 3 years. The sky isn’t falling yet.
after not really expecting all that much or even being that excited for this, I ended up thinking it was a lot of fun. Might end up revisiting it more than R1
I had a lot of fun! The action was really well done, the cinematography was beautiful and I thought that the cast did a great job. The first act wasn't very good (dialogue as exposition as the rule) but once Lando came into the picture, it took off. The budding friendship between Han and Chewie was the best part. Good viewing for the Summer.
Feel the same way, once Lando entered, it really took off. Definitely going again sometime this week.
When did Q'ira return the lucky dice? I missed that. She kept them at the beginning, then he had them again at the end.
Yep, makes sense. I was falling asleep while they were on this planet. I woke up when they were escaping.
