Yeah. Like it’s not a good movie, but it’s really not any worse than a good portion of the Marvel universe if I’m honest. And it has a more entertaining premise than most of those. Also I never thought I’d kind of defend Cowboys and Aliens... but here we are. Also in the topic of Harrison Ford, i don’t know that he necessarily knows what his motivations are sometimes. I think he just says yes to stuff and shows up, recites some lines and goes home. I also disagree with whoever said he didn’t care in he last Indiana Jones. Whatever that movies problems were, Ford wasn’t one of them. Dude loves that character and his performance was the only thing that kind of felt like it connected to the character. He did the best with what he was working with TBH. But also that movie didn’t happen so what am i talking about?
I think it’s likely that Harrison Ford invested more in his Force Awakens performance than most of his post-Air Force One output*, while it is simultaneously true that he would not have done the movie if they didn’t pay him tens of millions of dollars. I also won’t deny that he might have enjoyed his time on the film. Though maybe he would have preferred not to break his leg. * - his Branch Rickey in 42 was very lively and diverged a great deal from the post-Air Force One Harrison Ford screen persona.
You haven't provided any evidence though. Just a subjective view about his acting performance, which he obviously had to care for considering it was one of the most anticipated films ever? Again, a good performance (eventhough he's had far better and actually challenging ones - ie Blade Runner") doesn't mean he truly cared beyond a pay check. Hence why I brought up Alec Guinness' best supporting actor award nomination despite calling Star Wars "fairytale rubbish". Point being, you can hate your job/role and still be good at it - especially for money. Mark Hamill said at the time of filming that he fundamentally disagreed with everything Rian Johnson was doing for his character. Yet still delivered on the acting chops in TLJ. "As a character, he was not so interesting to me." - Harrison on Han Solo, ABC interview (2010). Even for Force Awakens he only said he was "open to the idea" of returning. Which hardly sounds enthusiastic. Compare him to Mark Hamill and you'll see a very stark difference in enthusiasm for a character.

Lol idk what it is about Clone Wars and Rebels but I have a really hard time remembering what actually happens in those shows. All I remembered is that Jon Favreau voiced that character haha Edit: Oops, also I didn't read close enough, the whole "alien" part haha. *Retreats shamefully*
Saw the teaser on the big screen for the first time last night. Still not totally sold on this, but the final scene about getting out of trouble that I enjoyed hit even better.
The more I see the trailers for this, the less excited I am. And honestly, the only real gripe I can put into words that I have with them is i'm not buying the guy they got to play Solo. Not even really his fault either. Ford was so charismatic and fulfilling in that role, it would be a hard sell for anyone imo.
