Aesthetically, it looks cool but I get the vibe they’re trying to hide something from me in the trailers.
I've been seeing people saying this but isn't the color scheme of the environment wrong for it to be Kessel?
I mean idk exactly everything about the Kessel Run but I could see them going through a handful of shit for it. Nebulas. Storms. Star Destroyers. TIES. Tentacle Monsters. Another early form of weaponized Death Star tech Im sure. Boba Fett. Basically, I wouldnt put it past this new era of Star Wars to change our interpretation of the Kessel Run from whatever there was in the past. Hope not and would prefer this NOT to be the Kessel Run, but just my guess.
a) This is just a trailer so I wouldn't consider it "in Star Wars" b) I believe there's an electric guitar in Attack of the Clones during the assassin chase sequence on Coruscant. Not 100% sure though
luckily it was only those two chords in the beginning. I doubt it will be used heavily in the movie. Probably just a trailer thing. I have faith in Powell and obvi Williams for the main theme.
Yeah trailers almost never use music from the actual film. Episodes 7 and 8 are exceptions, maybe just cuz it's John Williams idk, but Rogue One didn't use any music from the actual film. I'd say we shouldn't expect the music in the anthology films' trailers to reflect what will actually be in the film
Guitars were used in Attack of the Clones. But of all the things in the movie that I'm worried about, the music is not one. If John Williams is involved in anyway, it's gonna be solid.
I agree that I don't have a problem with a recast Han Solo but don't think who they have sells the character so far. Granted, we haven't seen much, so we can't really know what we're getting, but I also agree with the idea that it feels like they're hiding something. If this is Han's story, but Han's onscreen presence isn't strong enough to be the focus of the trailer... That's not good. The first outright "solo" Star Wars film should have some good material to drive the marketing from the start. As someone who 100% loved Rogue One and the Canto Bight stuff in Last Jedi, I do find a lot of the stuff here pretty cool. The Star Wars universe and its cinematic aesthetic, when built right, is always a blast to just hang out in. I do expect this to be a genuinely fun theater trip based on both that and, like everyone else has said, Lando. But, this hasn't done that much to ease my concerns. I dug Ant-Man in spite of the Edgar Wright stuff and still love Iron Man 3 after hearing how that film was restricted, but for whatever reason, I feel like I'm gonna spend this film thinking about Lord & Miller to the film's detriment. I hope I'm wrong. I at least don't expect to hate this, so that's cool.
I kinda view my interest in an Obi-Wan movie as more of an aesthetic interest than anything. The name of Obi-Wan could be enough to convince them to make a Star Wars film set completely on one planet. Could make a great space fantasy Western/samurai-type story. It's a great opportunity to mix things up and play it safe at the same time. But also, yes, I really wanna have a movie to experience Ewan's Obi-Wan while still never watching any of the prequel trilogy ever again, lol.
In 2018 my interest in a new Star Wars movie is tepid and my interest in a new Ron Howard movie is even milder.
The thing that bothers me the most about it though is that it’s cut very similarly to the R1 trailer. I guess they used the same company(?) bcuz it hits the same beats. This is one of the shots that caught my eye right away — so intrigued.
I think after the 2020 movie (Kenobi?) they need to slow down and stop with the movies every year. Come back fresh with Johnson's trilogy after a year or two off.
'Solo' decoded: A frame-by-frame breakdown of the expanded 'Star Wars' trailer It’s Solo week at EW so I guess we’ll maybe get some more set pictures and other details.
That mask is very Revan/Kylo esque. I love it. I think this is the plan. Right now is the "Phase 1" (though I don't think they've called it that), which is I'm guessing has been for rekindling the flame for Star Wars with nostaglia while trying to introduce a few new idea. From rumors that have floated around, it sounds like there is going to be a break for a few years after the final stand alone film in 2020 and Rian's trilogy. But the time between then is going to be filled with a live action TV show. So the movies might be paused, but Star Wars will still be pumping out new stuff.
we could only hope i'm getting worn out on Star Wars and I didn't think I would say that a few years ago.
Yeah and the shows are fine Rebels is great and i'm sure the next show will be good. The movies just need a break
