The teaser looked decent, but like, there's no way a Star Wars teaser in 2018 wasn't going to look decent. A lot rides on Han Solo himself, who we really haven't seen yet.

That dancing scene or whatever looked super cool, and Lando looked awesome, so it has that at least going for it?

 

Donald Glover is going to 1000% make this movie

 

He literally does no wrong, I don't see how he isn't the best thing about this. The whole movie could be a disaster around him but one way or the other I fully expect to walk out of the theater thinking "Yeah, but Lando, though."

 

Im feeling that I doubt this will be a disaster

 

So what was Ava talking about, the Colverfield thing? I didn’t watch so I dunno if I missed something

 

Yeah that was it. I had no idea she had such a vested interest in the Cloverfield franchise haha.

 

It's more to do with WOC lead, black director & POC cast. Which is pretty awesome really. And the novel release.

 

need to sit down the the trailer today where its nice and quiet and see how I feel. Was there anything that sounded like a new theme song?

 

Visuals are amazing.

 

Im just going to enjoy this film for what it is. I think its meant to just be a fun SPACE film. it's not supposed to be an all time classic but more just great visuals and a little story of how Han became a great pilot. I think I can get behind it, maybe I'll only see it once. But who cares, its more star wars and more stories about that universe can never be a bad thing.

Still iffy about Alden

As I feared, I do not see Alden as Han. He feels like a different character.

I can buy young Lando though and the trailer wasn’t bad. I would be more into it if the film wasn’t about young Han because it just won’t work without Ford.

 

Man I'm not feeling Alden at all

Eh, I think I can blame a lot of it on trailers in general emphasizing a certain tone these days. Like that bit at the end was a very Han Solo kind of moment. I didn’t think Alden was as bad as I was expecting, but obviously we’ll have to wait for the full movie to really see how he is.

No speaking lines for Donald in the trailer though (that I noticed)? What the hell?

 

Trailer made me so excited. Childiah Landino looks so good. Personally, I'm glad Alden isn't doing a Harrison Ford impersonation and doing his own thing.

 

I didn't really care about this movie but the trailer has got me pretty excited. Lando is going to be so good - I think Donald Glover was perfect casting. I was always Luke > Han so I'm not too fussed about them "ruining Han Solo" or whatever. As long as it's a fun movie that expands the lore of the universe I'm happy!

everything else I'm eh on. We'll see. Already not crazy about Alden

 

Eh. That trailer did nothing for me. I think he can still do good but his voice just doesn’t have that body that Harrison’s does. His is kind of too high. I didn’t want an impression or anything but I at least wanted that resonance. I’ll adjust watching the movie quickly was but as I’ve said Hans personality is something if you don’t NAIL the movie might not work for a lot of fans

Movie needs to be called Lando at this point.

 

Yeah I’m iffy on this. I’m definitely in the camp that if they can’t nail Han, or at least make Alden somewhat convincing as that character, it won’t work for me. We shall see.

 

I don’t think they’ll “ruin” Han, they just might not be able to convince me that i’m watching a younger version of Han.
