what? there are so many potential holes in this hypothetical, and i'm not sure why you're more qualified to speak on "business" than any other person in here.
ah, that makes you akin to the head of the marketing branch of the largest media conglomerate on earth then
what was the argument in here though? that the circumstance "has you thinking 100% that Disney has taken issue with the film and there could be no other reason"? thats what I think I read
there are an endless amount of reasons they could be pulling back on marketing and acting like anyone in here knows better than anyone else is a laughable concept
This is the post that made me think people think Disney wants to get in it and out without anyone seeing the movie so they aren't marketing. I'm not saying about any other posters in here so please try not to be offended.
you took it to the condescending tone, dude. i just met you there. not offended, but also have no illusion that we have any idea what happened
Disney is going to pump out a star wars movie every year for the rest of our lives. A lot of them will be bad, with this potentially being the first due to the info we have
what if Disney is having a hard time finding enough sizzle to fill out a traditional 6 months of trailer rollouts? maybe it's inherently more difficult to market a movie where all the protagonists use guns and are criminals in a series aimed at kids. maybe they're still putting together the final cut and deciding which minor characters need to be cut to accomodate reshoot footage and want the trailer to be indicative of a final product. or maybe they're just trying something new and seeing if riding a shorter, more concentrated hype train may work out while reducing advertising costs. who the fuck knows
Again, you have your opinion on why it's happening, I have mine. Also, again, stop @-ing me with this nonsense I'm not playing anymore.
I still cant believe this is the universe where Tarantino decides to work on a Star Trek and we could have gotten him to do a Star Wars gangsters and bounty hunters movie. how perfect would that shit be I mean really.
Shake if you thought Disney overreached and meddled too extensively in Solo, what do you think they'd do to a Tarantino flick haha
As cool as that idea sound, if QT really only has one more film in him as a director after #9 (which I'm still not convinced of), I'd really rather him not spend it on a franchise film. Although I'd love for him to write the screenplay for Star Trek 4 and then have someone else direct it (Edgar Wright would actually be a fun pick for new Trek, I think).
I don’t want my favorite directors on Star Wars. I want them making their Baby Drivers’ and Inglorious Basterds’.
Give me some lower budget Star Wars movies where Disney may not feel they need to meddle with the director's vision as much
