nah, too old. that's the 30 year ago insult a la "commie". i need Kylo to invent some deep space hate speech
Space cow milk was fantastically weird. It let's the audience know Luke is different then you're expecting. I dig it. The Rathtar scene really isn't that bad. It's quick and fun, gets them back on the move. Really not all that different from the tentacle monster in the trash compactor. Borgullet/tentacle monster from Rogue One or whatever was dumb and served no purpose.
I mostly just thought that, for as good as most of the other effects were in TFA, the rathtars did not look good. And also it completely negated the conflict between Solo and the mercenaries. Plus they wasted the guys from the Raid.
I did not mind BDT’s stutter. The essence of his performance was still great, so the surface detail of the stutter didn’t bother me. Similar to space Leia. The poignancy of the thematics work even if the CGI looks bad, so I was down with it even if I didn’t love the visual execution.
Yeah I felt the same way about both. Especially the Leia thing, like I get criticizing how it looked because the CGI was not great but people were seriously saying the very concept of it happening was "stupid."
Not that I cared for it either way and note that this is conjecture. I always thought borgullet was there to explain why Saw seemed a bit unhinged. “One tends to lose ones mind” made me think it had at some point been used on Saw. Could’ve done without it still, but that’s what I view borgullets use as.
I hadn't thought about it from that angle. Makes sense. I thought it was just an over the top way of showing Saw was an extremist. If they had brought it back and made Riz's character acting crazy it would have made the scene worth it.
I'm not in the crowd who think Milk Monster ruined TLJ/the Star Wars franchise. It was just an odd moment in the movie for me. I adore TLJ. And Porgs.
I think your way of seeing it makes sense as well, the idea of using torture would certainly help explain his extremism. I’ve seen that they go further into Bohdi’s state of mind in the novel, not that it really helps in the film. He does seem to snap out of it pretty quick.
The novelization was great. It definitely enhanced Bohdi and Baze as characters. There were little extras in there that I feel could have been kept in and improved the film.
I guess this storyline doesn't work for me: Disney Exec 1: This movie is bad. Disney Marketing Exec: Let's not market it at all so no one sees it and knows how bad it is. Disney Exec 1: Great idea! **Hi-Five** If you think that's how the conversation went, you may not know how business works.
